Paul's "cabaret" songs are vastly underrated. I love them all. Me too, especially Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da. Never fails to put a smile on my face and so much fun to sing along to. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is not of one of the Paul's cabaret" songs 😁

Yeah it’s more a kiddie song like all together now or yellow submarine, it’s in the « silly » pile of Paul songs right
The best cabaret song is honey pie obv, what a magical song
Then when I’m sixty four

Yeah, they are all in category ,,they maybe sound like shit and uncool but they are actually fucking great" 😁
But Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is ska.

And I hated Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da for so long. But then I stopped taking it so seriously 😁😁

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is amazing too yes.
Don't get the hate, but I guess people who don't like Macca's silly songs don't really like the Beatles. They just like the "idea" of the Beatles which has been fed since Lennon was killed.
Gotta say it's probably the only band where i don't dislike any song. Even Oasis there have cringey songs. Beatles ? Don't see any.

Free As a Bird is an amazing song IMO, love the whole feel of it and George's slide solo. Real Love as mentioned above is produced in a way that doesn't fit the song. Hopefully, both songs get remixed them with the AI tech for this new project to enhance John's vocal. I got into the Beatles around the time of Anthology but don't remember the hype of the two new songs being released. It's just sinking in how monumental it is to be getting a "new" Beatles song. I really hope it's great and a fitting end to the greatest band ever. The demo of Now and Then doesn't do much for me but neither does FAAB. Real Love is probably the best out of the batch in its demo form.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is not of one of the Paul's cabaret" songs 😁 Cabaret, granny, silly...whatever You know, I, I couldn't help notice: I didn't get my apology. A drafty apartment. A sweaterless friend. A ball-game-giveaway MetLife windbreaker. Yeah, the neck-hole thing, and I would appreciate it if you would say you're sorry. Bëdankt.

I love it when the Fabs' northern accents come to the fore in their singing. It reminds of something that I shouldn't forget but too often do, that the best band of all time, and one of the great cultural forces of the 20th century, was just four guys from working-class Liverpool. Not Manhattan or L.A., or even London. Post-war Liverpool... Really cool.
George definitely had the strongest accent while singing -- and possibly while speaking too.
Paul's accent comes through now and then, to very pleasing effect. Some of my favourite examples: "Sunday" and "Chuck" in 'When I'm Sixty-Four'; "customer" in 'Penny Lane'; and, of course, "Rrrrrrroll uuuuuup! Roll up for the mystery too-wah!"
Lennon sounds wonderfully scouse on 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!', and obviously 'Polythene Pam' where he's putting it on, but otherwise was a bit more transatlantic and accentless in his singing, especially in his solo career.

Me too, I loved how they embraced their identity and didn't water it down. I know that Lennon often exaggerated his Liverpudlian accent as an act of defiance. They defied the convention by not selling out their identity, and still do in many ways because you still don't hear regional accents in mainstream pop. Not many bands can sing in regional accents and be the biggest thing ever. Of all those gazillion selling acts, I can only think of The Beatles in doing that, am I missing anyone out?

Not on a comparable level of course, but Fontaines D.C? Edit: You specifically referred to "gazillion selling acts", so yeah probably not them.

Are they waiting for the Stones album to be released before announcing the new song then? Everything seems to be delaying it. Today the Lennon estate have announced a Mind Games super deluxe boxset, so that will probably push it back at least another week.

Still think Hello Goodbye is an awesome tune. Who gives a shit for simple lyrics when you get a great melody and immaculate production/arrangements ?

I used to not like it much, but yeah, it is pretty awesome. Great drums, that ascending guitar part is iconic, and I love the production touches like the trippy reverb applied to Macca's vocals in the middle.

What a world we live in. The Beatles fearing Taylor Swift and The Rolling Stones. People should be worried about a "new" Beatles song not a generic rock Stones album with 2 original members left.

It's a perfect blend of their early bop-style and the more trippy second half of their career. Simple melody and lyrics is all you need. Another great example is There She Goes from Mavers.
