The last ones thread is going well still. The next 'experimental album' out next month. Thoughts?
P.S. Couldn't find a thread for this, if there is one, please get rid of this or merge it.

It seems the snippet is a interpolation of this old Charlie Chaplin soundtrack. I have no idea what that could mean.

So, to sum up everything so far:
- A new album is mostly likely coming on November 22nd.
- Tabloids in the UK predicted this, and at the same time stated that it will be an experimental release, with a more conventional Coldplay-ish record next year.
- It seems the new record will have themes of turn-of-the-century aesthetics, Arabian writing, and a solar eclipse. The band have put up posters of themselves as an old-time band in an black-and-white photo with November 22nd 1919 written on it, the date of a massive solar eclipse. They have updated all their social media profiles to art of a moon and a sun/star. Chris spoke during a gig on the last tour about how the world was currently going through an eclipse, a place of darkness that will lead to future light.
- There is Arabian writing on the poster that translates to Sons of Adam, a popular poem, and Egyptian singer Natacha Atlas has been linked to the project. Edit: Natacha has just tweeted with the sun and moon emojis. Basically confirmation that she is involved.
- The pose of the band in the poster seems to be imitating a picture of the world's first touring jazz band, who first came to the UK in 1919.
- A music video from each album and EP has had it's YouTube thumbnail changed to black-and-white. Some have speculated that this could mean a greatest hits is on the way. Others have noted that the combined length of all the chosen tracks is 42 minutes, while particularly keen observers think that all of the songs were released on days when the lunar phase changed. The next lunar phase shift is this Wednesday.
- HTML coding in their sites suggests that song titles include Trouble in Town, Orphans, Daddy, and Everyday Life.
- We will most likely be getting a preview of Trouble in Town, and then a full acoustic performance of one of the other three.
- A DJ mentioned that he had heard the first single, and called it "another reinvention". Jimmy Dushku said that one of the songs the band were working on a few months ago is one of the best things they've ever done.
- We have heard fifteen seconds of string music, possibly sampled from a Charlie Chaplin film:

Will “Famous Old Painters” finally see the light of day? Coldplay could seriously cook up a killer unreleased album.
- Ladder To The Sun - Marianne - Pour Me - Famous Old Painters - Don Quixote - Solid Ground - Harmless
Those spring to mind first. Heard them live over the years going back to 2000.

Looks like we are more than likely getting a Coldplay double-album. This letter has been sent to two fans, naming the album as " Everyday Life" and saying it contains Sunset and Sunrise within it.

I’d like this to be good but I’m a bit of a stick in the mud for collaborations, especially when said band is good enough without it. And I can see this album being full to the brim with ‘guest stars’.
Basically, I don’t like bands doing it, it dilutes their sound and is only ever a vehicle to place the stars of the bands front and centre. I don’t think the rhythm section in Coldplay have ever benefited from it. As a band that are now in their 40s, they will be throwing everything at this in an attempt to remain contemporary and ‘relevant’.

What’s a double album in 2019 anyway? Will it be a fake double album like Reflektor? Which was shorter than The Suburbs and not a double album. We shall see.

This band was great on their own. Believe in yourself guys. Collaborations seem to be en voge with pop stars at the moment. Which Coldplay have been since around 2012-2014. The idea of this is great. The execution will be another. Don’t stumble.

In the winter or 2004 I’d have bet the farm on Ladder To The Sun, Pour Me and Gravity being on X&Y. I was dead fucking wrong. So they always surprise me with what they actually releases. Mixed bag.

Anyone think this album will be a stockpile of songs going way back, in addition to more contemporary tunes they’ve written? The reference that they’ve been making the album for ‘100 years’ might suggest so? Also the imagery isn’t particularly new. The moon cycle imagery has been present on their website for four years, and notice that Chris Martin wore a crescent moon and star on his costume during the Viva La Vida tour over ten years ago.
Maybe the Kaleidoscope EP was an indication of such - at least two of those songs were old. One sounded like old Coldplay, while one was more experimental in ALIENS. And then you had the shit collaborations. Perhaps it’s a way of releasing these tunes they’ve been stockpiling over the years while stringing it together with some kind of concept.

"Life is Beautiful" sounds like an upcoming Ashcroft single. Vague ‘Hallmark card’ type platitudes, some cliched syrupy strings and numerous ‘uuuuh yeeahs’ and, hey presto, you’ve got Ashcroft’s next single. As poor as Coldplay’s last album was for me, I wouldn’t be seen dead listening to Ashcroft’s nonsense.

Everyday Life is kinda a ho hum title. Reminds me of DMB’s Everday album. Hopefully it’s not a lame corporate sell out record like that DMB one.
