As in many NG songs, when you hear for the first time the first vocal line of the chorus, you feel you can almost sing the rest without hearing it. But somehow in his best songs, instead of making the song predictable and boring, this creates that feeling of "a song that has always been there". Cynics will say this is because he steals this or that other bit, but reducing it to that is just nonsense
That's Noel's big gift and after so many years I still dont know how he does It. As Johnny Marr, Paul Weller and many others have said through the years, he almost makes it seem easy to write these anthemic songs everybody wants to sing, but it's not. At all

FFS.... Why didn't I think of playing Ozzy's Dreamer, singing Little By Little over the verses and changing the lyrics 😑

Anyway, what's the point of playing your new single when it's not even out?

It definitely would. They still have a giant youth audience to this day solely based on the 90s and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. Liam and Noel's name alone can carry recognition, but to have it in the charts as oasis is transcendent. It’s not really about their popularity or brand I’m calling into question. It’s always their esoteric promo and release schedules. I know this example is from 11 years ago but they totally fumbled the TSOTL release. Didn’t come out physically or count to the charts until almost a full month after being released to radio. Sank their #1 single run. I could easily see them muff the punt. Fucking Pink! Got that #1

Got that #1 30 July 2008 (20 second preview) 15 August (Radio debut) 22 September 2008 (download) 29 September 2008 (physical) Even in the summer of 2008 this was an out of date method of release.

surely this isn't the one that was gonna make 'the parka monkeys' happy? With the title track coming with an apology letter, I’d say all evidence points to a hard “yes” on that.

This song is yet to be finished. A real shame as it could've been a classic. For me, Noel just can't seem to top Black Star Dancing.

I don't really get it. Why would he need to release this single with a written apology? Because it has... horns? It sounds more like Oasis than maybe anything he's done since 2009, only a handful of solo songs excluded. What apology? Someone fill me in....?
