So my question is, what would happen if Liam with Bonehead and few other guys and Noel with Gem and few other guys, decide to start up Oasis again on the same day :-) They could do a tour together with both Oasis's where they switch from show to show who gets to open and close. : D

I’ll set a reminder for me to file the trademark when it expires Would be interesting if a tribute band did that.

Beady Eye was the opposite. It was everyone but Noel. And they eventually played Oasis songs. Noel’s songs. Cover band. So, you would say New Order is a Joy Division cover band?

I cant see how Noel didnt think of this and made everything legally necessary for this not happening.
So the answer is no.

Plus New Order added a keyboard player, brand new singer and the tone of their music changed dramatically. They also didn’t tour as........Joy Division.

Getting royalties from a record contract is completely separate and different issue from owning the trademark of the name oasis. One could look and see if there was ever a trademark filed from 94-96 that registered oasis differently, to the band as a whole for example. I doubt it though, I didn’t see it listed. If I recall correctly, early on, Oasis had trouble with putting their logo on clothing due to some old ladies in the UK owning the trademark for a clothing company called "Oasis". I believe they had to pay a royalty for each t-shirt sold. I also believe this is why they never ended up sponsering MCFC. It probably took them a while to finally buy out the other entity, which may be why we don't see the trademark successfully filed until 1996.

Liam and Noel both have 120 shares, Marcus Russel has 30 and someone called McKinley has 30. The information is available online. So I guess if Noel or Liam would sell his shares they could dissolve their partnership. I'm guessing that "McKinley" is Alec McKinlay who is thanked in the liner notes for SOTSOG as someone who works/worked for Ignition Management.

No, thanks. I could go the rest of my life listening only to Noel's music and die peacefully.

Oh, and I reckon he could add to Black Star Dancing to actually. The backing track is more menacing than anything off Liam's album, I could well imagine "We can ride all nightah....." from Liam.
