For the first time EVER with any Oasis/Gallagher-related release: I’m not listening to any singles, snippets, leaks….A true test of self-discipline indeed, but I want to experience hearing Liam (and Noel’s) full new album, in it’s entirety, 100% new on release day. Never experienced that before and it’s time to try. Who’s with me?!!! Hold my hand Mmm I was thinking just yesterday about it. It would be amazing but I am a weak person 🤣🤣🤣 And there will be a great span of time (I think) between the first single and the album release... Too much time for me

Mind you, I never listen to leaks as it's much better to wait until the album is released to listen to it in good/proper quality.

Having been young when you first heard about new albums in, egads, monthly magazines, there were never snippets and life was the less fun for it.

I was actually thinking the other day wouldn't it be great to listen to the album in full, for the time on the release day but the concept of doing that in my head was too hard to grasp... But yes, let's do it, even thought it'll take an insane amount of self-control, I really want to try.

There was still singles, bsides and stuff so we never discovered the whole thing from scratch before streaming and stuff, but we didn't have 5/10 tracks before. That's a bit much.
The old 1,2 or max 3 singles before the album is out was a good deal. I wish there was still b side so we could say "wtf, why is this not on the LP, tosser".

As soon as Liam releases a snipet from his new single I'll be listening to it as I won't be able to help myself.

There was still singles, bsides and stuff so we never discovered the whole thing from scratch before streaming and stuff, Yeah, but you "discovered" them in your record store and had not heard a note so much as a day before you bought it. Even worse, if you were buying imports in the USA, you often couldn't hear anything at all until you ordered the record and waited weeks for it come in. There was a lot of waiting ... and then, if you didn't like it, too bad. It was yours. Not that waiting is terrible -- builds character and all that. But I find it funny/cute/interesting that younger people now want that experience again that was so frustrating at the time. In the end, having done it both ways many times, I'd say it makes precious little difference to your overall enjoyment of a full album. If it's a great album, it'll get ya on that first play no matter what you've heard already.

Do we have set date for Better Things yet or is it generally “later this year?”

If it's a great album, it'll get ya on that first play no matter what you've heard already. Curiously the bigger wait for me was between DyKWIM single and BHN. That was LONG although it was probably the smallest gap between first single and LP. It wasn’t so hard for me at the time because there was a lot of other exciting bands and the wait was shortened because of that. I was a closet blur fan 😂 between US and UK bands, stuff you discovered from when you were too young… how many hours did I spend in my record shop trying stuff. Also there was radio, with a lot of good stuff to discover. And 3 bside to make it worth the wait. It’s almost an album now those EPs. Some bands even had two EPs for each single. MAD. All in all it didn’t feel that long, a record stayed with you for weeks, months… it had time to stick with you, become part of you. There’s still a few records like that nowadays I’m not doing the old guy rant, just a different experience. There’s less charm, only the music.

It is different now and some things have definitely been lost, but part of what's way more fun now is being able to share in the experience with others across the world. When I was growing up I barely knew anyone who was into the music I was into and if I wanted to read about bands or try to find out what they were up to or what they thought about life or politics or whatever I had to ...brace yourself ... go to the library. Now it's all right here for us, emphasis on the us. We can listen to a clip of Noel or Liam's new song and within 3 seconds be on here debating our thoughts about it with all kinds of very different people we've never even met from melancholy countries ... So that part is very cool.

So that part is very cool. Yeah it is indeed, when people are open to debate . This was possible from 1999 on the-masterplan.com, huge Oasis forum where i made "real" friends. There was Oasis parties before gigs and all, fun time. It's so weird to meet someone you've talked to on the internet. Most of the times it fits, sometimes it dont, and sometime you become friends with you "online enemies" and make peace over a beer. True story.

Don't think too much of these posts tho, they seem to put out random pictures with random quotes at random times.

True, can't take these posts seriously but based on that it looks like they're considering releasing both albums in 2022. I highly doubt it though.
