This is great news and hopefully it will be both the new single and the live gig.
It would be great if there is a physical single release too and not just a digital one as I will be disappointed if it just get's a digital release.

As long as it's not flogging yet another polka dot..this time we've done the lettering in 3 font sizes smaller and you get a picture of bonehead eating a sandwich edition of his previous physical output dead horse flogging.Theres only so many times I can buy one bloody album! |

I don't think so but others would have more knowledge on the subject. |

I wonder if we'll get to hear the new single around the time Liam's river gig is broadcast online to co inside with it all. I know he didn't sing it in the gig but if this new single is out before Christmas then surely it would be a good time to promote it.

Let's hope that sometime in the new year Liam will be able to continue to work on his new album and manage to finish it. However I think it's a long way off yet with the way things are going with Covid.

I don't think that festivals will go ahead next year some how. I read on the BBC entertainment pages that the organisers of Glastonbury are doing their best to get it organised but they're not sure if they will be able to go a head with it.

This is excellent news. I know that it will be a while before Liam and anyone else can release another album but it's really great to read that he's back in the studio again.

2022, assuming that we'll be back to a normal album/tour cycle for bands, especially the more established ones, is gonna be such a crowded marketplace. I don't know where people are gonna fit If you were gonna take 2020/21 off, do you then take 2022 off as dates are already being pushed back?
Dream for punters but an absolute mare for up and coming bands- if you're trying to get people to part with money but every band of note is on the road or has albums vying for airplay etc. Record companies are gonna have to be very smart in getting things out too.
I can't see LG (or Noel) putting anything substantial out til they can play live- but once they announce gigs are back, especially ones with large crowds, it's gonna be a free for all. And people are gonna need to get on the road pronto, crews need paid, artists need paid, some of these poor rock stars have had to just have sex with their significant other for a year.

I think that it's very hard to predict when we will get new albums from both Noel and Liam because nobody knows how long it will be before Covid is under control once and for all. Besides I think it's always going to be around now anyway and we've just got to learn to live with it vaccine or not.

Well, they’ve got madly screaming happy crowds in the stadiums at the Australian Open right now, all because they decided not to live with the virus. Even with all that’s been royally screwed up in multiple countries that could have lost far fewer lives, there are ways Covid-19 can be a non-factor in human activity within a few years. The strategies exist. Just a matter of will, priorities and competence (granted, that's the hard stuff). But really, humanity got a stroke of luck. There are ways out of this mess and no need at all to let the virus continue to cause huge harms to life and joy. |
