Hes being called a tory boy because hes made it pretty clear his opinion is i have loads of money and fuck the rest of you. Hes brought everything on himself with all he's said. He's literally said that for 20 years though. Yeah and that was what was so great about him. He could still be that arrogant but also have that genuine appeal through his wit and still very relatable personality and views on the world. He managed to have it all and still be like ONE OF US.

People seem to think they owe us. They don't. Anyway I'm not gonna retread old ground.

If you cant see the monumental difference in the way hes perceived now compared to 10 years ago then i don't understand what you're following. All i was doing was trying to offer perspective on it.

The problem I have is that Noel talks the talk but the songs aren’t holding up. Especially when you think he was doing stuff like this 20 years ago: To be fair to Noely Poly he wasn’t doing stuff like Let Forever Be 20 years ago... The Chemical Brothers were. He’s only just learning how to do this sort of music properly himself now. I think these EPs are experiments. It will be interesting to see where he goes from here with the next album proper. Hopefully he can marry the new production style and beats with the melodies and choruses we all love him for and create some absolute monsters. X Well he co-wrote it - along with Setting Sun - so I think it’s a fair comparison. And Noel has said many times over the years how he and Coyley were making dance music even before Oasis so not sure he’s only just learning how to make this music. But yes, would be great if he develops his sound to the point where it’s up there with the likes of this.

Noel without Chemical Brothers input: Noel with Chemical Brothers input: Pretty clear it wasn’t Noel who made the beats etc. He’s also said the handful of dance tracks he attempted to make before Oasis were terrible. His talent was elsewhere at that point. X

I saw Noel a couple of nights ago with Smashing Pumpkins, to be honest, Smashing Pumpkins blew him out of the water in every way. I have a feeling that after this tour, he may be more open to considering an Oasis reunion. I think if the brothers were to incorporate some of their best new material into a live show, they both might find some common ground. I don’t care what Noel says about loving playing his new stuff for himself, somewhere deep down, he’s gotta hate not having the reception he once had from his fans. The crowds went absolutely nuts for Smashing Pumpkins right after he left the stage, and this was a city that really showed up for Noel. Something tells me that he must really hate being upstaged by “wild Billy Corgan.”

I think if this was 2012 and Noel was doing this new direction, the chances of Oasis coming back would be very high. The thing is, he went into this 'new' sound at a time when Liam wasn't a success and his first 2 solo albums were very well received. It was a complete no lose situation really. I still maintain that in 3-4 years we'll be getting a noel album much more like CY. I think the damage hes done in and out the studio is too much though.

I know CY doesn't always get well received here, but I think its the happy medium between all his albums. NGHFB was essentially Oasis 8. WBTM is the new sound. CY is in between. He still incorporated dad rock like Lock All the Doors and the Mexican and he had a typical Noely in TDOTL. WTSRMTS, TRS, TBOTMI and even ITHOTM showed progression towards a new sound. Not sure how to classify TR, TGWTXRE and YKWCGB, they didn't have the old Sardy Oasis sound but weren't very progressive either. That is my favourite album by him because for the most part the songs were there and it sounded fresher than NGHFB. I think EP3 might be a clue to whether he goes back to a CY type album. I'm not really a believer that Noel cares about what the masses think, but I do wonder that if EP3, which is supposed to have a traditional Noel sound, appeals to many and gets positive press, if that is the direction he goes with the next one. I also feel that while he making this new sound, he is probably really enjoying it and wants to get the most out of it, so we may get one more WBTM/EP2 full LP from him before all is said and done.

The fact that Noel is releasing stuff like WBTM and these EPs shows that he's very comfortable in his solo career. I can't see any reason for both Gallagher's to reunite Oasis at this point and definitely can't see Noel playing stuff from Liam's solo career that's been written by other people.

Most ironic post ever? Does Llam understand hypocrisy? Probably yes then no. I honestly have no idea what you mean. Well after stopping by the Liam section to do some trolling (and you've been at it good few years now), you come here and ask someone 'Why are you even here mate?' What's been your answer?

It's his dance routine that I can't get past. Noel Gallagher has a fucking dance routine! I was in Italy the past week and happened to see a bit of X Factor and it brought back memories of that performance he did of Holy Mountain. Possibly the most embarrassed I've been for Noel or Liam.

Noel releases one absolute shocker in TITP and the ‘backlash grows’ because of one (or a few) bad songs? Lol

Noel releases one absolute shocker in TITP and the ‘backlash grows’ because of one (or a few) bad songs? Lol A thread on an oasis forum doesn't mean backlash. This narrative has been going on for 2 years. Yet Holy Mountain was a hit single for Noel and MOON sold just as well as CY. Big shows, big tours and the freedom to make whatever music the man wants to make. Who knows the numbers the EPs are moving. Its weird how the physical releases are selling out but didn't chart. That is strange especially with such low sales that chart these days. You'd figure a top 100 for sure. Weird stuff.

Chasing Yesterday is his best solo album imo its not even close. First one is over produced and the last record is too out there.

Chasing Yesterday is his best solo album imo its not even close. First one is over produced and the last record is too out there. I love when people say MOON was experimental or “too out there”. It’s a very direct record. Modern sounding is about the only grand departure for Noel on that go around. Now if the AA album ever came out, then yes. That might be cosmic and far out and challenging for Oasis dudes and dudettes.
