Gotten a lot of ridicule over the years, but it’s not even the worst on the album (PYMWYMI). Has all the hallmarks of a LG written song. The rhyming couplets are indeed lyrically frustrating.
It’s okay. A bit heavy with the warning that one day all of us will be gone. All three of the SOTSOG clunkers have grown on me over the years, though, to be fair.
Seen through that lens it’s not too bad - a lullaby to a child, with an embedded cynical plea for a kind of continued innocence. Lovely stuff.

Unless he starts doing comedy shows, he sure has potential with the amount of things he says here because taking those things seriously is just too sad. There's liking what one brother does more, and then there's being absolutely clueless. |

Should've been a b-side and replaced with LAMB. Ive always kinda liked it though, and hasn't stopped SOTSOG from being my favourite Oasis album.

If you go into it expecting the worst song ever made, then you'll be pleasantly surprised. But if you go into it as people did in 2000, listening to the fourth album from a band that just defined a decade with their song-writing, then there's no getting around the fact that it is just nowhere near good enough.

Good song, it's just that plastercine/trampoline bit is shit I always thought "life was made of plastercine/bouncing on our trampoline" was a simple tweak that could have made that line MUCH less cringeworthy. |
