it's better than 99% of what he did with beady eye and as a solo artist. Oh look, more negativity coming from mouth. Moaning about Liam, moaning about Noel, moaning about this forum, moaning about fuckin' guitar capos Do you even like anything in life? saying that something "is better" is not exactly moaning. also, i tend to have a perspective towards my favourite band that goes beyond "everything they do is awesome!". i know, it's hard to understand if you are a fanboi with no critical mind whatsoever.

If you go into it expecting the worst song ever made, then you'll be pleasantly surprised. But if you go into it as people did in 2000, listening to the fourth album from a band that just defined a decade with their song-writing, then there's no getting around the fact that it is just nowhere near good enough. I like this assessment

I also think it's underrated massively. The production is really nice, the song builds up to a climax, catchy melody. As a non-native speaker, I don't mind the simplicity of the lyrics as much as an English native speaker might.

Very underrated. One of Liam's best vocals and the instrumental is great.

It's a great song with horrifying lyrics.
Possibly... musically... the most complete song he's written.

It IS underrated (especially when you take the demo into consideration) and it was, arguably, the beginning of the more explicitly Beatles-sounding tunes and production. Heathen Chemistry followed where this track led.
However, it's definitely worse than most of the b-sides (Cigarettes in Hell is shit though. Maybe one of the worst Noel lyrics...). Let's All Make Believe was clearly ousted from the record due to Little James.

Unless you think Mary Had A Little Lamb is.
But seriously, a terrible tune. A strange one as Liam's balladry and slow numbers is his strength in songwriting.

Didn't Paul Weller say to Noel in 1999 something along the lines of "Your brother's wrote a great tune" referring to Little James? Sure I read that somewhere. Maybe he was taking the piss.

the lyrics are bad but it's actually a good melody and not that terrible of a song. i've heard a lot worse. i'm not exactly going out of my way to listen to it but i don't hate it

Although the lyrics may be bad, it has always been one of my favourites from sotsog.
I really dig the melody, the nostalgia kind of feeling, the mood and direct message so to say. On top of that I think the sound is great and fits the album really well.
When the electric guitar kicks in during the 'na na' part is one of the highlights of the album to me!
