Most of Beady Eye's songs were, "I wish they went past point A on that idea." However, it's a massive disservice to act as if they only produced drivel. Flick of the Finger Soul Love Four Letter Word World Outside My Room Second Bite of the Apple (which though much maligned, has one of the best endings of any Gallagher-project) Iz RiteOff at the Next Exit Would have all been album highlights on any Oasis album. EDIT: FWIW, I do very very very much love the ending to Wigwam. I don't know about that one, chief.

Let's not forget, Heathen Chemistry was celebrated until Don't Believe The Truth was released....and, so on.... Thanks. What was the line reviewers kept repeating over and over since 2001? “Oasis returns to form” or something like that. I think I remember 'Hindu Times' leaking early......put it on a burnt cd, and listened to it on the family room stereo at full blast; then I spilled red wine all over the white family room carpet, kinda killed the buzz and vibe, not a total power move. God bless.

If Four Letter Word was on an Oasis setlist it would have blown the roof off. Immense song wasted by amateur promo with Beady Eye. Shame. Should have been the first thing we ever heard from the band. Set the tone or illusion they were a wrecking force. Yeah, and instead what we got was....

I like a lot of BDI songs, but let's not pretend that Soul Love, World Outside My Room and Iz Rite are anywhere near as good as any 1990s Oasis album track. I do wonder what album BDI would have put out given the proper time and preparation. BE was good but the songwriting shows that it was only 2 years after DGSS.

I quite like this one from the couple of live videos I’ve seen. However, we all know Noel steals parts from songs (which I don’t actually mind as long as it’s stolen from a decent song!) and I can’t help thinking he’s nicked the verses from Weller’s Brushed. Which, by the way is a fucking good tune.

Really like the sound of it.
Major props to Chris Sharrock for the drumming on this. Imagine this with Fat Bono.

Quite liking how we’re getting drip fed tunes over this year like tapas instead of one big ploughman’s sandwich of an album. Makes a nice change. X

X See if you still feel that way when you've paid £36 for less than an album of material WBTM had 9 actual songs. 3eps could well mean more than that. Heck, 3 eps could total to 12 songs, which is more than any Oasis-related album bar AYW.

Either way its a win for all of us.

Its almost as if they took every leftover they had from their Oasis days and threw it on there. The tracks didnt gel, there was no cohesion in the sound. The album would have been much stronger minus Three Ring Circus, Edge Of The Noise, and The Beat Goes On.... and Bring The Light.

As bad as those songs are, Lillywhite's production was the sewage wash. I don't care how much influence Liam had over the project on wanting the sound of the album to be pseudo-retro, he's an acclaimed producer and had the power to leave the project if Liam wasn't backing down - he isn't some sort of Chris Potter. Plus, it's kind of evident Lillywhite's lost his touch in recent years (that 2017 remake of Red Hill Mining Town is awful).

Mark my words. You could Listen to the songs in Spotify or other streaming platforms, if the alternative is nothing from Noel til late in 2020 I'd rather have the EPs. If there's something I dont like simply wont be played much after its release date. I dont think I've heard The good rebel more than what you could count in one hand.

Liam went from high praise of Lillywhite in early 2011 throwing him under the bus in early 2013 as the root of DGSS problems. Lilly is a hired gun. He’s gonna do whatever the band asks. The main problem is the band didn’t have enough high quality songs. You can’t polish a turd as Noel once claimed.

So much esteem in the music industry, but shriveled up to Liam Gallagher? There's no reason that project at least didn't have solid production. It seems more a matter of poor songwriting and poor production efforts on both sides, it was doomed to fail.

To be fair though, the industry standard for EPs was 4 songs for quite a long time - look at the EPs released in the 60s for example.

Yeah but for the entire 90s when I was getting into music every single had 4 tracks. So to me a single is 4, an EP is 6 and an album 10+.
