I must say, the quality of Noel's solo work is much better than the last 3 Oasis albums, I do think there is something in the theory that Noel kept some of his stronger songs back in the event of a solo career. We know he is quite shrewd.

Good question, I think I'd have to say yes if you compare say the best 5 or 6 songs from his solo albums to the songs he wrote himself on the last few Oasis albums, plus his worst songs are generally better than Liam. Andy and Gem's. I still dont really like his first and third albums as complete bodies of work that much though.

Absolutely not. Although the last 3 Oasis albums have had plenty of filler or average songs I feel like a compilation of the best of Noel's 3 albums would not be as good as a compilation of the last 3 Oasis records. Besides Holy Mountain I don't think there's anything particularly great about Who Built The Moon anyway.

DOYS is a stellar record but CY and the self-titled record put HC and DBTT to shame.
the best thing noel has done for himself creatively is to stop putting out songs that andy and gem wrote and to remove himself from songwriters that can't write songs.

I have soft spots for all Oasis records, so it's hard i'd say.
I'm much more critical when it comes to solo records, being Liam or Noel.
Overall, the 3 Oasis records have better songs and many bsides to swap with the filler on the LPs, and Oasis did not produce the semi-catastrophe that is Chasing Yesterday.
I know HC is hated but i like it, it has to do with living the moment back then, from the early leaks and the early days of the internet to Finsbury park. Oasis records were more than records, they were experiences. I guess if i discovered those LPs now my opinion would be different.
So i guess Oasis wins (although NGHFB and WBTM are pretty great records).

Not really a fan of Chasing Yesterday in that it hasn’t aged that well for me. I can see Noel trying to go in a different direction at times (even if it is merely a slight change) which is a foretells the amazing Who Built The Moon, but it’s at its absolute worst with the standard hom-hum tunes that we’d come to expect from Noel. Girl With X Ray Eyes is just one of the most appalling songs from anything Oasis related, Lcok All The Doors is embarrassing and You Know We Can’t Go Back is what Be Here Now would have sounded like if it was a tepid album.
Riverman and While The Song Remains... are the highlights for me. Outstanding tunes. Aside from that, I really fear a creative luddite Dave Sardy overseeing another Noel project again. He’ll appeal to Noel’s worst impulses and what we’ll end up with is an 11 track dud full of dad rock crap like the tunes mentioned above.

I'm surprised at how many people are putting DOYS ahead of CY. I mean, Get Off Your High Horse Lady is simply appalling, and Ain't Got Nothin' and Nature Of Reality are surely two of the worst Oasis songs of all time.

Dig our your Soul is a great album until the last few tunes.
Noel's solo stuff is better than the last few Oasis albums although I now find Chasing Yesterday boring as fuck. His first album is still very good and the new one has some great tunes and some that do nothing for me.

For me, every one of Noel's solo albums have at most 1-2 duds. Even as a fan of DOYS, there are 3 while DBTT and HC have more.

On paper yes but actually listening, no, if that makes sense? Listening to an entire NG album feels like quite a slog to me whereas DBTT and DOYS seem to fly by even with more weak tracks. Even the lesser Oasis era has a certain spirit and vibe that NG alone doesn’t have for me, which I guess comes down to Liam’s “thing.”

Based on current song rating data, then no. Not even close actually. On the flip side, we have gotten far more tracks in Noel's post-Oasis output. By volume, then I guess you can make an argument.
I'd provide the numbers if I could, but work firewalls are the worst. Maybe later.

Personally, I find enjoyment in all of these albums in often times varying ways. This being stated, I cannot agree with the notion that Noel's three solo albums best Oasis' last three albums in a cage match to the death.

What a great record DOYS would have been had GOYHHL, AGN, and NOR had taken their rightful place as b-sides, and instead it had EOTR, IIHAG, and a Liam-sung Record Machine.
...and oh yeah, please, for the love of God, keep Dave Sardy away from the studio.
