So we know Liam has recorded half this album already. He’s off to LA this week to finish it. Maybe it’s time this record had its own thread. News about the album will surely start filtering through now.
Look out for Andrew Wyatt on insta @wyattish as he often posts stories with the artists he’s working with.
Exciting times.
(Just for fun I’ve added a poll)

I won't be interested if his second album is like the first, just not my thing....but, I'll give it a try, I like to party.
Thanks.

It’s gonna be really hard for Liam to match the quality and success of the first album. If it’s better I think he will take off to a whole other level.

I’m a little worried tbh. I trust Liam’s taste but it all comes down to how hands on he’s been with it. If he’s just popping in and spending all day at the pub we could end up with pop music shite. I hope he realizes these Hollywood producers can’t be trusted like Noel could be to churn out great, authentic, music...they just want money makers of any sort. You can’t trust these f-ers, they wrote the lyrics to Chinatown for Christ’s sake. I hope he is using his success to gain control of his career and has really pushed for the more punk influence. Now is not the time to slip into laziness.

Now is not the time to slip into laziness. I do agree with this a bit, but I am happy they are there. Without a lot of their influence, my fear would be Liam does the punk album he's been dreaming about. That would be a disaster. If we get an album full of Meaning of Souls, Eyeball Ticklers, I get Bys and stuff like that, it will be rough. Liam loves that stuff and these days its easier for him to sing, but that was never what Liam was about. On the other hand, if there are too many FWIW or Chinatown songs, then yes, the producers have won. We need Bolds and I've All I Needs. Liam songs that bring out why Liam is Liam, with the touch of the producers to elevate it. But then with that, you will get a lot of "oh this safe crap again" from people. If he's going to change direction, give me an album full of It Doesn't Have to Be That Ways. I'd love that, but fat chance it happens. In the end I'm not sure what to expect other than we probably get a proper version of Eh La.

I just hope it isn't rushed.
I'd rather wait a couple of years for 12 great songs, rather than get a half baked follow up just for the sake of keeping up momentum.
I also think Liam should reach out to Noel and get him to write a song or two for it! Which could end up being the thing which triggers the inevitable Oasis reunion.

I remember when some wanted Ashcroft to write for Liam last year.

More interested in Liam's touring schedule than new material but will most likely buy it unless it's utter shit like Noel's last two. Hopefully he drops a few classics like he's done this last year. Be Here Now was the dream.

I can't see Liam having much material of his own knocking around. I hope Eh La doesn't turn up on album 2, I'd rather he went back to that Show Me Your Love and worked on it. Otherwise I'm happy for him to just go solely with the songwriters if it means him singing some decent tunes.

I just hope he doesn't stop playing a lot of Oasis songs for the show I was going to go to that got postponed because of the recording of this album.

My biggest fear is that it'll be rushed as well. Liam has been so busy he wouldn't have had time to create more classics like BOLD or IVE ALL I NEED. I think he put everything into As You Were which is why its so good. I think the song writers would have been working on a lot of material while Liam was touring which isn't a bad thing they wrote some great songs on the album but Liam's songs shit all over theirs in my opinion.
Regardless, Im extremely keen to hear what direction they take. It'll sound different for sure, it will be an album solidifying himself as a solo artist not a 'come back this is the last chance album' but if I were to guess, I can't see it being as good as As You Were but we'll see.
Do you think it will be a June - September release?

I wonder how consistent it will be compared to his first album, considering he's got a mix of people contributing to the songwriting. I'd much rather he had one person help ala Rodney Williams/Guy Chambers so his style is recognizable and kind of develops evenly. To kind of give it some integrity and personality. I couldn't feel half the songs on his first album. It was boaderline kareoke. Maybe someone could write the music, and he could write the lyrics. To make it more personal. Know what I mean?

I'd like him to hone in on that Wall of Glass / It Doesn't Have to be That Way sound, rock with a bassy and electronic edge. He can stay dangerous but also make catchy, danceable tunes in that vein. I'm sure there's gonna be at least one For What it's Worth, which is alright as long as it's only a small part of the album. Gotta have a song on it to play your mum.

Agree with the sentiments made by The Escapist and mattChinatown is a fucking horrid song that should never have been released. FWIW is alright live as a singalong. I don't really go back to it. Not the biggest fan of Wall Of Glass but I do like that it's a bit different. Bold/Greedy Soul/Come Back To Me/I've All I Need/Better Run - they were probably the highlights of the album for me in terms of the 'Oasis style' songs. But songs like Wall Of Glass and Doesn't Have To Be That Way showed Liam has the ability to take songs to a different place and hopefully grow as a solo.
