i hope to God he doesn't overthink it this time by 'not trying to sound like Noel Gallagher' please come in with some tunes that have been demoed. the write the tunes day of shit never really works- and lyrics tend to suffer for it too. To me, the two most Noel Gallagher sounding songs were TMWBTM and DITW. These are two of the top songs imo. TMWBTM might just be my NGHFB song. I remember Noel saying that Holmes would tell him to switch things up the second one of his songs sounded too Noelish. He may have been taking a nap with TMWBTM, cause I'm surprised he didn't stop him on that one for sounding like himself. Thank goodness he didn't. |

It's just bad. And it sounds as if it was produced to be "different", but Noel didn't have the potatoes to go full throttle and to release the AA stuff so he stopped halfway and we got what we got. So we might indeed get an album taht sounds 25% like Abba  |

70s disco is fucking great. Bring it on, Noel. Let's see what you've got. Interesting what he's saying about taking lyrical inspiration from his old Manchester mates. He'll probably write one song about that and then ten others about nothing in particular, as usual, but I'd still be interested in hearing something like that from him. The last time he tried to write a nostalgic song about Manchester he came out with 'While the Song Remains the Same', one of his best solo songs. |

Frankly, I'd love to see Noel attempt a Bee Gees esque disco album. Maybe take it a little easy on the falsetto though.
I loved In The Heat of The Moment and Ballad of The Mighty I, which are dance like.

I don't know if it'll sound like 70's disco, but Noel has clearly fallen into more of a dance influence lately:
AKA...What A Life was his first taste, and then we got Ballad of the Might I, In the Heat of the Moment, the It's a Beautiful World, She Taught Me How to Fly, heck, I'd throw Fort Knox in there too. So unlike psychedlic pop, we already have a pretty good idea that Noel can not only write in a dance vein, but currently is.
