found this on instagram: yeah someone on here asked that and posted it. I think their post is in the Union Chapel thread, Oasis Mania then copied it and put it on their Instagram. Either way still cool and hope we actually get to see this at some point lol.

They essentially copy and pasted my post. I don't know if the entire show was filmed and I certainly wasn't told anything about release dates.

dick move. but at the same time, if liam wants to continually slag off noel and his songwriting, some backlash is to be expected. still a dick move but.

Noel&his team are losing their heads this time... Yeh, it sucks. It seems a really petty thing to do - whether it's Noel or Marcus (probably both!). But... but (and this is what people need to realise) they ARE Noel's songs. He has the publishing rights. He signed that publishing deal in 1994 for however much and he owns them. He can do what he wants with them, whether we like it or not. I do think it's a dickish move because the only people it's hurting are the fans at the end of the day. Liam will tell his side of the story and Noel won't give his version (and if he does it'll be too late) and Liam - as much as I love him - is gonna play the martyr (and as far as we know, that's fair enough in this case). It's an unnecessary move and it seems Noel/Ignition could have just let this go, for good will to the fans more than anything.

Them’s the rules, I suppose. Still, it’s a shame.

I imagine Liam's team are weighing things up right now. The doc is obviously finished (based on Liam saying he'd watched the whole thing a few days ago) and could potentially be expensive to go back and re-edit it, depending on how many Oasis songs are in there. So if they are expecting it to make big bucks they might just go ahead and face the inevitable royalties case. I don't know enough about the law surrounding this stuff though. I assume the presence of Noel's songs wouldn't entitle him to 100% of the royalties? That said. Surely somebody from Liam's camp would have looked into this before putting the songs in the film?

As far as I'm aware, Noel owns the publishing rights to any songs that he wrote in the 90s. They don't belong to Liam or Oasis - they're all him. He had the publishing deal with Sony. That's definitely the case for any songs pre-SOTSOG. I imagine it also applies to songs after that, but I'm not 100%. However, I've read somewhere that he did sign a publishing deal pre-DM, and then another for WTSMG and then another (huge one - talking millions) for BHN. So I can only imagine it'd be that he'd get royalties that cover his songs. So a percentage? It'd be kind of like if Oasis had kept Step Out on WTSMG. Stevie Wonder would have got a percentage of the royalties. As it was, his estate got a pay off (I believe) and Oasis promised to drop the song from the album (only to put it on one of their biggest-selling singles with no royalties to pay as they'd already done the deal!).

So people can sing Oasis songs on The Voice, but Liam can't sing them on his documentary?

I think Liams´s PR know about this and loyalties and they know they would have to pay some percentage about Oasis songs shown in As It was, as Noel owns publishing rights.... But, this looks as if Ignition and Noel management are sueing Liam just for showing Oasis songs in a documentary under Liam´s name. i don´t know if they can do that. Because i think it´s pretty obvious they should pay some publishing rights (and they were going to pay them)

Ignition left us unforgettable bitter taste with Trip Inside demo.
Don't believe truth because they have their own truth.
