As it Was Review "as raw as a music documentary can get" No big spoilers. Can't wait to watch it, sounds great. Nice to see that Paul gets recognition, as you get the impression that he is very important to Liam.

Why does the trailer and sypnosis have to be so over the top with the comeback stuff? Yes it was a good comeback. But hyoerbole like best comeback of all time is just opening it up for ridicule. That is the point of a trailer though, to hype it up. Hardly going to go "As It Was, a pretty good comeback, out on 6th June!" are they? It has been a pretty amazing comeback to be fair, I thought Liam was down and out and I'm one of his biggest fans, quite remarkable what he achieved, especially for a middle aged man. Get your point but the greatest comeback ever opens it up for the kind of ridicule it received on all the cinema pages that shared it. Granted, Liam will always get those negative comments but even as one of Liams biggest fans I couldn't help but feel like its been over done a bit. This Charlie fella seems a bit too far up his arse.

I'm shocked! LanguageThere are written and spoken uses of very strong language ('c**t'), as well as frequent uses strong language ('f**k'). DrugsReferences are made to using marijuana, heroin and cocaine, as well as alcohol abuse. However, the film does not endorse drug misuse. Source:bbfc.co.uk/releases/liam-gallagher-it-was-film

Im more excited for this than supersonic tbh. Think its a shame that there will be no oasis music, it probably hurt the emotion abit I think. There isnt really any songs from beady eye or as you were that can really captivate the same kind of atmosphere. Overall I understand it though, Liam can hardly expect to keep insulting Noel and still get the benefits. Specially since the trailer centres mostly around Noel and his decision to leave oasis. I can perfectly understand Noel not wanting to lend some artistic license to a movie that seemingly doesnt really show him in a positive light.
going to be very interesting viewing though to understand what was going on during those beady eye years. I would assume that they likely had to remove the olympics performance from the film, Im sure they wouldve covered it.

I understand it would definitely diminish the overall atmosphere in parts of the documentary, having live forever at the ritz or one love for example would have been amazing but in saying that I don’t think it’ll hurt it that much. Liam’s solo stuff is strong enough to fill the void in my opinion

Looks like it‘s coming out on Friday on iTunes (only GB/IE) It's a shame it's only available in the UK!. Anybody knows if there is an international DVD/Bluray release as well?

German Amazon does list it, but still "not available", you cannot even pre-order yet. I guess they will list it at the latest after it is out? To be sure to get it, I have pre-ordered from .uk.

It looks like no film distributor outside the UK acquired the rights to release it, neither in cinemas nor physical or digital. It really is a niche product and apparently not even Liam's record label was interested in stepping in.

Interesting, but clearly shows that the film distributor saw no commercial value without a simultaneous album campaign paid by the record label.

tbf as it was is going to have a pretty narrow market, more so than supersonic. I honestly don't know what the oasis awareness outside the UK even is these days but Im sure many only know them for wonderwall, if that. then you take away the oasis portion and only make it about Liam and his time between the split and now, you suddenly cut that market down even more.
The UK market is probably going to be the only one that really has a big enough interest to even bother with it.

This disc is listed as Region 2 so in the US we will need a region free blue ray player or a region 2 with converter to plug it into our sockets. There’s a Blu-ray player for 50 pounds on amazon that might work that I’m thinking of getting because the region frees are all hacked and most eventually break or look like shit

I wouldn't be too surprised if Liam mentioned smack in some context during the doc but it's not like he's using it himself

love his honesty, its hilarious. Its rather refreshing to the bullshit marketing fluff you normally get. I remember an interview where the interviewer asked him if struggled to sleep the night before as you were got released, he just turned around and said "well its not christmas and Im not fucking nine".

Speaking about the film he said "As much as people think my ego is out of control, I'm not arsed about having a film about me. It was nice to document the comeback, I suppose, but can I really be arsed having a camera in my face when I'm on holiday! There are some good bit's in it and I'm sure people will enjoy it. But put it out now and fuck off. I keep telling people not to get to excited. It's not Star Wars". Speaking about being blocked from using any of Oasis' music in the film he said "Yeah he wrote them, but he was part of a band, and I was in that band singing them. If I was singing his solo gear then OK. But these are Oasis songs. They belong to the people. He wrote them, I sang them, we made them". www.stopcryingyourheartout.co.uk/2019/06/liam-gallagher-on-being-blocked-from.htmlLol at Star Wars. Part of the issue to be considered though is it’s not just Liam using the oasis songs, it’s allll the other people involved in this movie that would be profiting off of Noel’s copyright. Charlie, the director, producer, Warner, etc, etc. kind of bullshit to expect Noel to hand all these people his work!
