I think the non-tyre changing is rediculous + dangerous. it is just encouraging blow ups and punctures at the end of races, a prime example Kimi Raikkonen a few weeks ago leading and on the final lap goes into a mad spin and lucky he wasn't near a wall when his tyre went. And then only the 6 Bridgestone cars racing because of fears of the mitchelin tyres wouldn't last going into the fastest turn in F1, where the cars run inches away from a wall on banked track. FIA wanted to make F1 more exciting by adding the no tyre change and they say safety is their main point, to protect the driver. I wouldn't feel safe taking a corner at 200mph with tyres that are about to go.

They better hope they can save their image now for the rest of the season.
It was mostly Michelin, and the FIA's fault that this whole thing happened, but as always Ferrari had something to do with it as well. 9 teams had agreed to allow some changes to make the race go ahead, but Ferrari didn't agree.
Then after the race Jean Todt had that smug grin on his face. I hope he's happy that he got 18 points and almost killed off the sport.
but in other news BMW has taken over Sauber

If you ask me, this whole thing was Michelin's fault. They're the ones who couldn't get the right tyres in time. F1 didn't bent the rules before, I don't think they should have now. www.planet-f1.com/news/story_20076.shtmlMichelin offer US fans their money back Tuesday June 28 2005 Email Us Chat Forum Mail article Print article French tyre company Michelin has offered to refund the 120,000 spectators who bought tickets for the US Grand Prix two weeks ago. The tyre company made the offer on the eve of an FIA disciplinary meetingin Paris which will hear why the seven Michelin-shod teams refused to race over safety concerns. All seven teams face charges of bringing the sport into disrepute and could face a range of penalties including suspended bans, fines or even loss of Championship points. A Michelin statement read: "Michelin deeply regrets that the public was deprived of an exciting race and therefore wishes to be the first, among the different groups involved in the race, to make a strong gesture towards the spectators." The company have also offered to buy 20,000 tickets for the 2006 US Grand Prix to be given to this year's fans.

So the season is over now after finishing in China yesterday.
World Champion Fernando Alonso won the race after clinching the tile for the first time a couple of weeks ago. He has been tremendous throught the season. His team, Renault clinched the constructors title at this race ahead of McLaren
Kimi Raikkonen, the unluckiest driver of the season finished runner up in the race and the championship.
Michael Schumacher, after winning 5 titles on the trot could only mange 3rd in the Championship with one top spot on the podium, finishing just ahead of Montoya.
Saying good-bye to F1 are Jordan, Minardi and Sabur
