There’s seems a bit of indicison on whether people like it. Is it a liam only song or can Noel pull it off too?
Personally I don’t think it’s right him doing it. However I’d love Liam to

It's alright. It's not Liam's version but come on,I was so tired of him playing the same fucking songs for three years. It's a nice surprise seeing that he hasn't forgot about the songs that came after Be Here Now (excluding Little By Little and TIOBI as he played them hundreds of times on solo gigs) so I think its good. But even if he plays Birthday Cake I would be into it,just seeing Noel change the set is great

I agree that changing the set list was definitely needed, however he could have made a better song choice. Even falling down or a simple game of genius could be an interesting change up

It sounds cool and fresh. And quite groovy as well. Noel seems to enjoy playing it and Gem's guitar is excellent.
Definitely more than good.

And you can tell how well Noel and Gem mix when they work on a song like this. It's great. Also, all the people saying they'd love Liam to do it. Yeh, so would I, but the entire reason it was dropped in the first place 16 years ago is that Liam's voice would cut out during it.

It’s alright, not as good as Liam’s, would like to see Noel add gas panic to his set

Link?
(Apologies, been in the pub all day so I’m behind on the whole Detroit setlist news. GLO is welcome news though).

I think it’s great he’s added it in. Love that tune. But hearing him sing it is just...so...weird. That melody just screams LG.
Just wait till Noel pulls out Cigs and Alc. 😆

We all heard him sing it years ago when the SOTSOG demos were leaked so I'm not sure what the surprise even is?
I was there last night and Be Careful What You Wish For sounded particularly great. Interesting choices of GLIO, LBL and TIOBI as I don't think those would be high on most people's lists but maybe he wants to flesh out his catalogue by giving them a new life.

Love it! Very nice update. It's one of those Oasis songs that work equally well with either brother on vocals.

I am more impressed by Noel´s biceps :-) All these months of people saying he looked too skinny and sickly, turns out homeboy was on a cut. Let There Be Swole.

Not having it.
He hasn't changed the arrangement, so it's lacking the Liam aggression and energy and snarl and attitude. Look at NGHFB rendition of other Liam sung songs (Supersonic, Champagne Supernova, etc) - Noel changed the arrangements for those. He changed nothing on GLIO. This actually is what an Oasis demo version of GLIO would be like. If you're missing Oasis this much, then just get over yourself and reunite the fucking band.

Great to hear it. Sadly the only nice and original setlist addition. Such a catalogue Noel, use it please.

Is it just me or has he weirdly changed one chord? So it's D-F-<some B variant> instead of D-F-G?

Well played, but the acoustic guitar doesn't suit the track at all. Noel should have picked up an electric one. Same thing for Noel's voice, which is too soft for this track in my humbe opinion. Gem's the star of the song and delivers an amazing performance as always.

For this song, I think Liam's voice from the record can't be topped. Not live. But I'm really happy he's doing it nevertheless and would love for him to do more surprising numbers like this. I'm looking forward to hearing it live instead of on YouTube to see if the vibe is different.
