I find it funny how "classic bands" as used in everyday conversation and in this thread invariably refers to "70s white rock 'n' roll bands that my parents show their age by saying they love". The truth is that there are so many other bands from the 70s of all sorts of styles and genres that were as influential or more so than those so-called classic bands. Examples: Joni Mitchell, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Can, Brian Eno, etc. Those are far more worth your time. I mean, every minute spent listening to Styx is a minute wasted. And why bother owning Hotel California when you're assaulted by the title track and New Kid in Town every time you turn on the radio? I feel like this post(or at least the opening sentence) requires a list of the "top 10 classic non-white artists that EVERYONE should give a listen to". Go!

Am I allowed to list bands in which not all the members were non-white? In that case there goes Sly and the Family Stone and Jimi Hendrix.
And what about people who are half-white and half-something else?

Alright, let's change it into groups/artists that are predominantly non-white, and you can decide if "half-whites" should be counted or not

If they are not in my library then they are not missing, they simply don't matter to me.

The GNR version is shite compared to Dylan's original version. Like a Rolling Stone and Love Minus Zero are brilliant, as well.

For me, Nothing Else Matters is even worse than Hotel California when we talk about those big classic rock songs. Shit verses, shit chorus, if wrote it I wouldn't even be proud about it. Songs like that are very dull and uninspiring, they all have big and long intros and shit like that, huge production etc. They are wrote and produced in that way that you are not even allowed to doubt it if that is one of the biggest songs of all time. And fans of those songs are especially annoying. They are always ready to say that there is no good music today, and when they say today they mean in last 25 years, and all they listen and think that it is best music ever is songs like Hotel California, Nothing Else Matters, All Right Now by Free and shit like that. Yeah, "Nothing Else Matters" is a shit song. Awful chorus. No worse than Bohemian Rhapsody though. What's wrong with Bohemian Rhapsody?

Loool that wasn’t a real reason, I’ve just never crossed paths with Dylan tbh. However, I did give his knockin on heavens door a go today, it was alright. There may be room for another old man with a guitar in my life after all, who knows
