1. Who Built the Moon 2. Chasing Yesterday 3. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
I love all three though and have such fond memories of the first album's release and tour.

1) Who Built the Moon? 2) Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds / Chasing Yesterday
Yeah, I know, cop-out. But at this point I can't seperate them, not because I dislike them, but because they both have big strengths and a key flaw. NGHFB is a great collection of songs (I even like Dream On) and it does feel like an album with a set sound and flow. However, the production sucks the life out of well-written songs (Everybody's on the Run, If I Had a Gun, Record Machine...) and there is a definite lack of energy because of that. Chasing Yesterday, on the other hand, has very competent production and the high points are better than those on NGHFB (Ballad, The Right Stuff, While the Song...). But it does have a few weak tracks and it feels more like a collection of songs than an album.
Who Built the Moon, on the other hand, is an album produced amazingly with no real weak tracks and a great flow. Easily the best.

1. WBTM: very good songs, fresh and exciting production 2. CY: very good songs, fine but average production 3. NGHFB: some excellent songs, a few average songs, less than average production
Anyway, the most important part for me are the songs, and the three are very good in that aspect. I still listen to the three regularly, while I only listen to a few songs of each of the latter Oasis albums

01) Chasing Yesterday - Not one song on here I don't like. Just take one look at that tracklisting.
02) High Flying Birds - Only song I don't really care for is Stop the Clocks.
03) Who Built the Moon? - Just doesn't have as many great songs as the other two and that mixing is f#cking atrocious.

1. Who Built The Moon?
Took another listen to immediately enjoy this album completely. There's something to appreciate about on every track, even Holy Mountain. It isn't a masterpiece, and might not going to go down as a classic, but it's a fresh and interesting sonic journey from Noel which was a long time coming.
2. Chasing Yesterday
I loved the album when it first released, and looking back its still fairly enjoyable. We get a solid blend of classic Noel mixed with a bright, pop sound with a couple more experimental moments here and there (my favorite being the short ambient intro to WTSRTS and The Right Stuff). This record foreshadowed the new take that WBTM? would provide, but the plodding dad rock known as Lock All the Doors is one of the lowest points in the Gallagher catalog.
3. High Flying Birds
And of course it comes down to the safe but sound debut. I'm not that much of a fan of this album, primarily because Dave Sardy drained all life out of certain songs that demanded a less brash approach. If I Had A Gun is an ok Noel number that's made a fustrating listen by its Sardification. The album is overdone is some areas such as the strings and choirs that just bring in an MOR touch which is the last thing anyone ever should do. Nevertheless, everything else aside, it's a safe record that got the job done and got Noel a healthy sum of cash. He could put records like this together in his sleep and they'd sell adequately.

1. WBTM 2. NGHFB 3. CY They're all pretty close in quality, as far as songs. WBTM has the best production, and that puts it over the top. Am I the only person who thinks TGWTXE is a great song? I mean, the production sucks, and Noel's vocals suck, but stripped bare it is a fantastic melody with cool chords. I've never understood the hate it gets here. It seems to be forgettable for most, and while its nothing epic, I think its atmosphere is amazing. Its actually the first song (if you listen to the discography in order) where Noel starts his path to being "spacey and out there" which is what most seem to want here, so it again that aspect confuses me.

1. CY 9 / 10 2. WBTM 7.5 / 10 3. NGHFB 7 / 10
Chasing Yesterday has the best songwriting and production by a good margin IMO. And it really channels that melancholy/hopeful vibe that Noel does so well.
The other two albums are good but flat in comparison.

It’s hard to rank these albums because I really appreciate the progression of Noel’s solo albums. First we got all these saved up Oasis gems. Then we got some classic Noel mixed with growth that I think stemmed from What a Life. Now we have a creative expansion built on ballad of the mighty I and the Right Stuff. If I had to rank them it’d be in terms of what delivered on my expectations more than anything. But the problem with that is Chasing Yesterday has the unfortunate duty of being the middle child.
Anyway,
NGHFB WBTM CY

1. Chasing Yesterday 2. High Flying Birds 3. Who Built The Moon?
Very close though. HFB has a few low points (Dream On, Record Machine, STC) WBTM hardly has any weak spots, but it's a bit too short and I feel the second Wednesday track was taking the piss. If it had a belter of an album closer it could of taken the number one spot. CY is the one a listen(ed) to the most, it hasn't got any fillers and it's perfect length and perfectly balanced with upbeat and down tempo tracks.
