Many people don't like the album and that's just fine but don't put yourself in that group. There is difference between people expressing there view honestly and intrestingly and those repeating themself over and over to get a rise out of others. Seriously man, if you don't like my posts, don't read them. I'm not going to stop discussing my opinions just because you don't like them or they annoy you. Let's end this here and carry on. 😘

The bit where Liam sings "Well, I gotta go, maybe see you down the road" as the guitars cut in and the strings swirl around in One of Us is absolutely hypnotic. What a fantastic song. Absolutely love it, and the outro too, especially the bass and gospel choir, I wish it was much longer 😍

Great songs: Once, One of Us, Now That I've Found You, Why Me Why Not, Be Still, Gone, Invisible Sun
Good songs: Shockwave, Halo, Alright Now, The River, Misunderstood
Meh songs: Meadow, Glimmer (don't dislike either really but just don't do it for me)

Shockwave - 5.5 A bit like Wall of Glass, I can see its a decent song and I can see why it was released first but it doesn't do much for me. I know its tone has put some off or that its aimed at Noel but its just one of Liam's rant songs to me and not one of the better ones. One of Us - 8 Album kicks off here for me. Lovely bass and production touches, undeniably catchy and a gloriously gospel finish. Live I think its even better, some really nice guitar flourishes. Once - 7 Rather than a rant, this is a much more mature look at the past, wistful, pretty with some decent lyrics and an outragously Beatles sounding instrumental break. I also really like the Blonde on Blonde guitar licks in the first part. A great vocal too. Now That I Found You - 8 An absolute joy. I wouldn't want songs like this from Liam all the time but the album can support at least one of them and luckily its a good effort. Production is great, the fuzzy guitar solo leading into the final chorus with all the backing singers is well done. Its breezy and feels effortless. Halo - 7 The ridiculous lyrics actually fit this bonkers, manic, piano driven tune. There is a lot to like about this, its not rocket science but it is good fun. Having a soft spot for Bring The Light its probably no surprise that I think its good. The little solo by whatever it is near the end is a nice touch. Why Me? Why Not - 9 Easily the song that feels like it has the most Liam in it. I really like the verses but the chorus is great, my favourite Liam vocal on the record, The strings are really good on this too. My favourite on the album. Alright Now - 6.5 A tune that has grown on me since release and maybe will do some more. Again some really nice touches, backing vocals, guitar solo and sung in a way I don't really think Liam has done before. Meadow - 5 It just falls flat for me. I can see what they were going for (Harrison/Beatles) but I don't think they ever get there. Even Liam's best efforts can't save this one. The River - 7.5 A beast of a song, straight out of the 70's, love the guitar effects and a few clunkly lyrics aside its a big vocal from Liam. Wasn't sure at first but its kept getting better for me. Gone - 7 The Western tinged song Red Dead 2 was missing. Again I think Liam probably had a bit to do with the verses on this. The strings are nice as they are on most of the album. Its a decent finish to a decent album. ---------------------- Invisible Sun - 6 Has grown on me about, decent enough Ian Brown fare. Misunderstood - 3 Total shite, would rather have had two bonus tracks. Glimmer - 5.5 Light enough, pleasant, nothing more. You also like to pretend that Be Still doesn't exist?

Back to the album after one week. A record with the a "best of" quality. You get: his best old rock style (Halo), his best ballad (Once), his best oasis-ish tune (Be Still), his best Liamish song (WMWN), his best pop song (One of Us), his best pop-rock effort (NTIFY), his best stomper (Shockwave), his best beatles-ish songs (Meadows and All right now)... wow.
I like every tune on it. And Liam vocals are his best since BHN, imo.

Can someone please tell me what Liam is referring to with “16 years ago”, in One Of Us. I can’t figure it out.
It will all make sense when Oasis reforms in 2025.

I think it holds up really well after a few weeks, variety is the key. It’s at a least on a par with the first one and way way way superior to Beady Eye. I have to compare it to Beady Eye because I think it’s unfairly being thrown in with those albums, and I’m hearing totally different vibes - whereas that is one note, repetitive plodding tired dadrock, this does sound vibrant.
The ‘lighter’ tunes I totally dig - it’s too easy to say he should just be signing punk rock or revert to that but he totally owns songs like Alright Now. They’re well crafted pop songs that aren’t repetitive or outstay their welcome. I’d usually be up in arms about the blatant Beatles vibe as well but whereas in the past latter Oasis and Beady Eye would steal those tricks as window dressing to cover up what were extremely boring songs, these songs do have a carefree and effortless charm to them.
Take it for what it is. It’s not trying to be rock or punky. A very solid 8/10 for me.

I see the 'hype' thread is holding up weeks after release, I believe there is a thread for reviews.

First listen since the binge listen after the release. Sounds really bad on speakers. Really, really bad. Too bad someone fell alseep on the brickwall button, underneath, it sounded good.

It’s very clean, but that’s expected for mainstream production. I don’t think roughing these songs up would make them better and it’s just not industry standard either. As much as we’re used to Liam tunes being a bit more raw, the approach taken in this album with these songs was the right one.

You can question Liam’s work ethic at times, especially in the 1990s, but do not discount the tremendous amount of work he has put in and applied to many other areas of his life as well. It’s been an incredible ride back into stardom again.
The question now is - can he at least maintain, if not improve upon his current position. I believe he can.
Liam just turned 47, but he looks as young as he did during the DBTT era, and much better after that floppy hair transvestite dress thing of those darkened Beady Eye days. It’s nice to see. Tremendous and strupendous. Lovely stuff.

It’s sounds immense on my surround sound system. Much better than headphones. The bass is more prominent and it makes a big difference.

A bit like WBTM in that I like it but it doesn't connect. I'm not sure Liam should be claiming "co-writes" on the vast majority of it any more than I should claim some kind of production credit on songs by Rolo by suggesting minor changes. Nice album, Halo's the only song I don't like, but it doesn't mean anything to me. But he's back out there and he's happy, so that's the main thing.

The River is one of those songs that shouldn’t work, that should be deemed shocking. And yet, I’m proper having it! One of my favorites. Even like the echo now shouttttttttaaaaahhhhhhhh
