Are there song titles floating about for the next two EPs? Wandering Star is definitely one title.

Are there song titles floating about for the next two EPs? If this thing is coming out late August to mid September an announcement should be around the corner. We know he was still tinkering with EP2 in the last 2 weeks. Group was at Abbey Road for more work. The plan is supposedly September for the EP. Even though it's not an album, a late Sept release would obviously mean going head-to-head with Liam to an extent. But based on the BSD release if we're getting it early September then it would mean a single out sharpish - probably early August at the earliest - which could then play into it getting debuted in the US on that tour, I suppose.

I'd say a single sometime in August for an end of September EP release. By end of September, the week after Liam's (so the 27th?) would probably be sensible.

Mancunian doesn't mean classic Noel. In fact,he has said that the next single will be very very electronic. Madchester sound without guitar I guess. And I’m completely down for it. And I'm completely up for it - so are we indeed both looking forward to it? Strange the English language...

Fuck ep’s. He once talked shit on billy corgan for making a double album saying no one has time to listen to it. Nah, no one has time to run out a buy fuckin 3 or 4 ep’s when you could just hold off and make an album.
Ep’s. Pretentious shit. What is this 1960 and he’s cliff richard?

Ah makes sense. Looking forward to it. Some classic tunes from Manchester that I hope are an influence: X Happy to hear from the Variety interview that the next EP is indeed influenced by acid house. X

Pretty sure the Foo Fighters are releasing several EPs this year. It's kind of what's done now. An album means an entirely new cycle. It puts everything back by 6 months at least. I'd much rather have three/four songs drop every 3 months rather than wait ages, thank you very much. Also, it's 2019. Just friggin stream it.

I have not listened to it since it came out to be honest. Nothing grabbed me, it was not completely shit, the single was ok. Far from their best work.

Kind of a Dead in the water type of song if noel didnt overproduce this. I just realized this is a bit sentimental
Though a bit dumbfounded why people are not a fan of this. Chorus is definitely strong and sounds like a better effort compared to Stand by Me

I've always seen it as sobering, quiting drugs song by Noel.
The production takes away from the beauty of the song.

This is the way the song should've been done. Acoustic with some nice piano flourishes and Noel's vocals, and right around 3 minutes, 30 seconds long. It was too much to have the DLBIA-like drums and solo, as well as the overblown electronic choir in the background. It tried to find a light at the end of the tunnel, but with the "Cos it never works out right" line at the end especially, it just doesn't work. The more-acoustic approach puts forth more of the raw emotion that this song possesses.

Agreed but even the concept of the album isnt what it was, with people just cherry picking tracks on iTunes or Spotify. Id rather hear it all in one go and give have it all under one group of songs. EPs historically dont have the same impact or longevity.
