I mean you could have broken up MOON into 3 EPs when you think about it. Fort Knox Holy Mountain Keep On Reaching It’s A Beautiful World She Taught Me How To Fly Be Careful What You Wish For Black & White Sunshine If Love Was The Law The Man Who Built The Moon If Noel did this in 2017 how many people are pissed? Ultimately it doesn’t matter. I'd split it in 2 EPs, one with cosmic pop/whatever, the 2nd with fuller sound, IMO Holy Mountain Keep On Reaching It’s A Beautiful World She Taught Me How To Fly Black & White Sunshine Fort Knox Be Careful What You Wish For If Love Is The Law The Man Who Built The Moon completely happy to ignore the first one while I'd enjoy the other one more I think it's unfair to write off the songs of the first EP. She Taught Me How to Fly is a great New Order/Blondie-esque new wave song that has a unique place in Noel's discography, Holy Mountain is pure fun, Keep on Reaching is a driving Motown-inspired track that has good power and is an intense & good lead-in to It's a Beautiful World which is a cool spin on the typical Noel formula of brooding & melodic verses and soaring choruses. Black & White Sunshine is good for a listen or two every now and then, but it's no Probably All in the Mind or Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is. Those five have their place and are very good, especially when you pair it with the four in the second EP.

Many of you may not like the guy but it sure looks like Bonehead and Liam enjoyed the video. Liam tweeted the below, then Bonehead pointed out the :20 bit.

12" picture disc is sold out already on his website. Seems like they'll press more of them, they're available again.

Is there a digital or CD release of this EP or is it only vinyl again?

I won't be happy if his next album is full of Black Star Dancing, but who am I to say that? Time changes, people change, so does Noel Gallagher ano 2019. Hardly to believe it's the same guy who wrote Live Forever, Supersonic, Slide Away, Rockin Chair etc etc.
I did enjoy Holy Mountain live when I saw him last year, but I will be bored as hell if his next gig is full of songs like Holy Mountain and Black Star Dancing.
Anyway, I've pre-ordered a picture disc for my collection as always and meanwhile I've got my dancing shoes ready for Black Star Dancing. Life is short people, better enjoy than keep moaning.

I think the point of releasing three EPs this year is that every one will have a slightly different style. So hopefully there's a nice balance

Ugh EPs. Not a fan. The Pixies did a similar thing on their return a few years back (EP1, EP2, EP3) and it just didn't work. Eventually they combined them into a single LP and everyone forgot the EPs ever existed. It sounds like all the EPs are ready, unless there's a good reason why, I'd rather Noel just combined them all and dropped an LP in June instead. The Smashing Pumpkins also worked like that for a while. Their approach was to release 12 EPs of music over two years. Ditched that after two or three and then released an LP(Oceanía). Some of that material was alright(Son For A Son, The Chimera), but that approach isnt for everyone. Perhaps there's some sleigh bells in the third EP? Or strings a la whatever? X Was gonna mention the Pumpkins. I cant really find an example where the EP strategy was a winner for big artists like Noel. He's probably releasing leftovers or stuff that did not fit elsewhere. I'm glad he's doing it, more material for us.

I have done playlists like this with every album after be here now, the 3 EPs are basically chasing yesterday part 2, tracks that have been around a while and some that have been written more recently but all nicely split to help empty our pockets, my thinking is Noel will tour the shit out of it for a while then do the usual and disappear for 2-3 years Ps I fully expect to see don't stop/bye bye my family on the EPs come on outside,oh lord, she must be one of us,ect ect and a couple from amongst the socks marked AA 😛 I’d be pretty delighted if something from the AA sessions was on one of these 😍

I was saying this sort of stuff a month or two back. Since Noel cares deeply about his #1 album run, he’s always gonna try to protect it. That means nothing too risky or bold. I thought Record Store Day would be a perfect opportunity for Noel to release more risky material for him in that setting. People and critics don’t usually criticize or care about chart entries for that day. It’s a perfect ground to dump leftover Holmes, a touring band EP or even the infamous AA sessions. Reviews and sales don’t matter on that day. It’s about having fun and rewarding your fans.

I have no idea why people are casting Black Star Dancing as similar to Holy Mountain. They could hardly be more different. One is a sleek, bass-y dance-ballad, and the other is a blaring, noisy, carnival of a tune. Their only similarity is that neither of them sound like Wonderwall.

That and a Bond theme are the only things Noel is missing from his career.

I pretty much have most of everything, but this Black Star Dancing EP will be one of the very few Gallagher-related releases I won't be adding to my collection.

Two questions:
1) So there never was a “touring band album”, or are we looking at with the 3 EPs, given it’s got Jessica et al??
2) So songs like “Don’t Stop”, and all the other great ones in the vault with a (gasp!) guitar in them, are just vanished from existence now??

Haven’t been following (hospital, innit).
Is the EP leftovers from the WBTM project? (BSD feels like a leftover). Or are these completely new songs he’s releasing?
And why an EP and not a full blown album?

In the UK (https://www.officialcharts.com/), it looks like EP's count towards the singles charts, not the album charts. One last go at a no.1 single for Noel Surely BSD won’t chart as a UK #1....?

Seems like this must be the touring band thing, since Jess and YSEE are both on it. Maybe Gem's even on the guitar solo? Hard to say, but since Noel produced this song (and presumably the rest of this EP) himself, then it can't be the Sardy or Holmes projects. Maybe Sardy is EP2 and Holmes is EP3?

When Noel says the next EP is “Mancunian”, what does that mean? (Yank here).
Does he mean something like Columbia? More traditional guitar-based? Or something else entirely?
