So I assume the EP is some extra work done with Holmes, as we heard about a while ago. To tide use over until a full, Sardy-produced album later this year/next year.

Catchy. As. Fuck. Noel's been trying for years and now he's finally made a track you can actually dance to. I'm happy. Holy Mountain She Taught Me How To Fly You can definitely dance to both of them. But this... This is something else. So glad he's carried on in this direction.

This style of music is just not my bag. It's fine, but to be honest it's more background music to me.
I hope Noel does return at one point to traditional song writing, I still hold out hope for an acoustic album - that would be my absolute dream from NG.
I suppose we're lucky to have both brothers producing albums - LG scratches the rock itch whilst Noel has gone down a dancey path.

I started loving it, but as I went through the song I lost interest and stopped focusing on it.
Not bad, but nothing special about it. Sounds like the latest Franz Ferdinand album.

I like it. Good sound overall. You can tell he's absolutely embraced this new sound.
I dont think its anything brilliant, but its nice. Anyone who craves change from Noel should like this. Anyone who doesn't like him straying off his typical path probably won't.
I welcome different and do enjoy this, but also can't be on the "this is his best sound since BHN" train.

I kind of agree in the sense that that's what seems to happen with a lot of 'dance' music if it doesn't really go anywhere. But I'd 100% rather him be trying this than doing another Dad Rock album. Let Richard Ashcroft sort that, ta.

So its confirmed its an EP not an album for now. The song is good, definitely Who Built The Moon 2.0, and - similarly to that album - it not his "best" work, but its different so thats something.
Still enjoyable!
I must say, the WBTM direction can only last so long before becoming overdone. I'd rather three albums like CY than three like WBTM, anyday. I think people are putting too much faith in the so called "WBTM new direction"
In the end, who cares, still a pretty decent track.
Edit: seems most people are of the same opinion, good song, but those who think its his best ever solo work are kidding themselves.

Biggest problem to me is that after the "We can ride on" bit I'm expecting it to go up another level with a classic Noel chorus but it never comes.

I've only listened once but I agree there. It's why I thought WBTM had a pretty good balance. But if it's an EP and a single, then it's alright with me, if the song just didn't fit the classic Noel formula.

It’s okay. It’s no Holy Mountain which was barrels of fun in my opinion. Despite its shiny production, it is a bit bland I think.
And unfortunately, that lends it to Kasabian comparisons - which is as big an insult as you can get if you’re being compared to those monkeys.

It's ok, I certainly don't feel as embarrassed for Noel as when Holy Mountain came out.

Here’s a test for me that it utterly fails: can I hum or Remember any of it an hour later? No. I can’t remember ANY of it.
If Liam came out with this he’d be ROASTED. Some people want to like Noel so much I feel their default is “I Love It.”
Twitter seems to be yawning - not seeing much either way.

Are You Looking For Action? would be a good exacmple of this.

It does remind me of a certain kasabian track, I think it's "are you looking for action". Just the first association I got.
