Why are so many people sayin’ Dead In The Water? It’s not on the fuckin’ album, it’s an extra on the deluxe, basically a b-side. Fuckin’ hate deluxe albums. I do wish he'd had done b-sides. He did for the CY singles, can't see why he didn't for this (though I suppose there wasn't much left over material)

The two songs leading the poll are most Oasis-like. Interesting. I wouldn't call 'The Man Who Built The Moon' Oasis-like, really? I find it very Oasis-like. Could have easily fit on SOTSOG, DOYS or NGHFB which was an Oasis-like album. To me its this album's Gas Panic!, Falling Down or Stranded on the Wrong Beach.

To be fair it's actually included on the standard version too – it makes no sense, I know, just saying. store.noelgallagher.com/cart/product.php?id=33948

My 3rd favourite is BCWYWF. Sounds like Tricky & Santigold got it on.

I was instantly in love with Dead In The Water. It's like old-school Noely G. coming out to play for an Oasis b-side.

Probably TMWBTM. That's a fairly solid 7/10 The rest range between about 2/10 and 6/10. Can't get into B&WS, i find it very poor. 2/10. One of the worst songs Noel has ever written. yeah, that's some noisy shit. hard to listen to

The Man Who Built the Moon is so fucking atmospheric. Its by far and away the best song on the album for me.
My top 3 were that, She Taught Me How To Fly and If Love Is The Law. It was quite an easy decision. I think overall, theres alot of good ideas without totally fulfilling the potential.
When i hear a song like the title track, its a real example of capturing something that you dont often hear - especially not on a Gallagher record. I think he should have gone away and tried to capture more of this energy rather than what seems like a bunch of ideas at it and seeing what happens.
I think overall i would say this will be look at as a step in the right direction kind of album. Theres not enough songs that feel complete, if they were without the style of production then some would be quite weak songs. After Holy Mountain though (as much as ive come to like it for its energy and joyous feel) i am relieved theres enough on here that i can listen to for days on end and not get bored.
Dead In The Water gave me chills at times. The kind of chills i havent had since i discovered Noel's songs. I'd actually say theres an example of a song that captures all of the raw beauty of a Noel song and bottles it up. When you start getting Sardy on shit like that he sucks the life out of it until you're left with a tired sounding plod.

When that 2nd verse kicks in and you get the subtle acoustic alongside that bass, its so reminiscent of Noel's rethink.

She Taught Me How To Fly. I already knew this was an amazing song based on the live version and initial clip.
The Man Who Built The Moon. What a cool song!
Dead In The Water. Very beautiful, raw, sincere...honest. Glad Noel decided to put this on.

I wonder if this and the rethink were done at similar times.

It's not a good sign when one of the supposed best tracks in the album is an outtake bonus track.

for me, STMHTF, ILITL & TMWBTM are the standouts...
alot of people saying DITW & GHUA are just standard 'noel by numbers', but isnt that what we fell in love with? i like them, but i also want a noel acoustic album so...

It's not a good sign when one of the supposed best tracks in the album is an outtake bonus track. Well don't take it as part of the album. I've not factored either DITW or GHUA into my thinking. DITW is a wonderful song. Anyway, easily two of the best songs from the WSMG-era Oasis are b-sides. Means nothing.

The Man Who Built The Moon stands out, then i have a soft spot for If Love Is The Law, which is Bacharach meets Dylan. Thanx god for Harmonica.

Honestly, I can't decide. I can tell which ones are not: Black and White Sunshine and Keep on Reaching. That shows how fucking good this album is.
(Holy Mountain is still amazing).

Really don't get all the negativity towards Holy Mountain. Maybe not the best lead single, but as a track it's just an absolute blast. So noisy and energetic and fun, and I can't help sing along. Tune.

Tune. It's still a 9/10 for me, and still constantly being played. As the Clash review reads, the sense of abandon and schizophrenic nature of it is glorious and hilarious. People here shit on it massively but the reality is it's not as bad as they think it is - if that was the case, critics would hate it (they don't, and it's probably one of the most unanimously well received Gallagher tunes in ages) and those of is who absolutely love it on here wouldn't love it so much. Even though I haven't heard it, I fully expect it to still be one of my favourites off the album come Friday.

It's not a good sign when one of the supposed best tracks in the album is an outtake bonus track. Not if you understand the history of the song and why it was left off the album. It's by no means a bonus track or b side. It's just not a song befitting of the style of this record. It's still classic Noel.
