I listened to it all day.. I'm enjoying a couple of Noel's but not as much as Liam's.
Favorites- God help us all Love is the law Dead in the water
Maybe it's because I'm not a technical music person so it's hard for me to fully appreciate the technical aspects/achievements of the album. As well as my complaint from the beginning, about connecting with the lyrics... there's just not that much for me. Which is just weird to say since it's why I loved oasis tunes. Is it just me or does it sound like Noel is singing in a cave... I can barely hear his voice and when I do, It has an echo. Again, might be because of the technical aspects.
Im just very "meh" about it, which is how I felt about his other albums. It's not an album that I'll listen to beginning to end... which I still do with "As you were".

Really feels like a missed opportunity to me. It’s darker moments - BCWYWF, TMWBTM, the verses of IABW - are wonderful but they’re few and far between. It’s greatest lighter moment is STMHTF. Too much of the rest of the album veers off into corny territory for me. Could easily have been a great album, though, and I hope Noel sticks with Holmes and this newer route. Just lose the pop-tastic approach.

1. Fort Knox - Poor man's FITB. Decent opener but that fucking bell? 6/10. 2. Holy Mountain - Annoying and cheesy but catchy as hell. Slightly growing on me now though. 6.5/10. 3. Keep On Reaching - Let's face it, it's shite. 5/10. 4. It’s A Beautiful World - Growing on me after not liking it at first. 7/10. 5. She Taught Me How To Fly - Again, after not like it at first you can't not love the melody and this carries the song. Grower. 7/10. 6. Be Careful What You Wish For - Too slow and quite boring. Can't get into it at all. 6/10. 7. Black & White Sunshine - This is more like it. Good tune, good tempo, good chorus. One of the highlights. 7.5/10. 8. Interlude - Sounds like the kind of tune you hear when you're having a massage. This is a Noel Gallagher album ffs! Waste of time and lazy classing this as a song in the track listing. 4/10. 9. If Love Is A Low - My favourite song so far. Very uplifting with a happy vibe to it. The bigger and better version of "She Is Love" if you ask me. 8/10 10. The Man Who Built The Moon - Don't get me wrong, a good piece of music and a highlight of the album but it's not a classic by any stretch. Should/could have been a James Bond theme tune. 7.5/10. 11. End Credits (Wednesday part 2) - See track 8. Time for a massage! Lazy. 4/10. 12. Dead In The Water (Live At RTE 2FM Studios, Dublin) - Classic Noel. Would have loved a studio recorded version of this on a larger scale but it's still great as it is. 7.5/10.
Overall, quite disappointed with the album and struggling to get into it. I hope this changes. The two instrumentals are a total waste in my opinion, thus as far as I'm concerned making it a 10 track album.
Standout tracks for me - Black & White Sunshine, If Love Is The Law and The Man Who Built The Moon.
6.5/10

Like with Chasing Yesterday it seems like a step on the right direction. Wrongly picked first singles both times tho.
Fort Knox. The alarm makes this triplets that I wasn't aware until recently and I still love it as much as when i first heard it on the trailer. 8/10
Holy Mountain. Great vibe and even better bassline, shit lyrics. 5/10
Keep on Reaching. Can you keep a secret? When Noel told that he was about to sing in his higher register for this one I tought it was going to be a novelty song, singing on falsetto for the sake of it, glad to be wrong! More of this and less of HM next time! Love the girls singing and the sparse horns in this one 7/10 (should've been the first single imho)
It's a Beau Monde - It's a trance made music, with a near apocaliptic nightmare. Everything it's alright in the end tho 8/10
She Taught Me How To Fly - The best song Noel has wrote about Sara, love the fx in noel's voice, dunno if it's just him singing with lots of reverb or just multitracked 8/10
Be Careful what you wish for - Is noel signing A capo in this faux come together intro? My sister loves this one. the piano interlude is so short but damn should've been longer. A better written wating for the rapture alt take from the doys boxset? 6/10
Black and White Sunshine - A slap in your face if you fell asleep with the 3 longer tracks on the album. Is that a string section or just a guitar? 5/10
Interlude - 4/10 eh not sure of the point of it in here, a filler perhaps?
If Love is the Law If there wasn't Dead on The Water this one would be called the 'acoustic by numbers ballad' 6/10
The Man Who Built The Moon. Dark, menacing, amazing. Nice Rolling Stones references in the lyrics. The only thing that hampers this song is that the final isnt belted by Noel 9/10
End Credits - Cute way to end the album 7/10
Dead on the water - I fell in love with If I Had a Gun when that soundcheck version was posted on here almost 8 years ago and this one is even better! 9/10
God Help Us All - It seems like Noel didnt knew what to do with it after all these years with it, glad to have it, but there isnt much more to it than we knew back then, bummer 4/10
man I would love it if Noel went into the rabbit hole for the next album, with CY he saw it, on WBTM? he is standing on the edge waiting to fall.
Score 7/10 My favourites Keep on Reaching, Fort Knox and The Man Who Built The Moon

incredibly dissapointed by the album.
3 instrumentals that do absolutely nothing.
Noel and Holmes do not have the talent to create an instrumental that is as good as "great gig in the sky" or "one of these days"
The man who built the moon is awful, it tries to be a mix between trainspotting by primal scream and this is hardcore by Pulp, nothing new here.
Holy Mountain, beautiful world, she taught me how to fly are good songs, but the rest of the album is forgettable. The irony is, his first two albums are more experimental and progressive in comparison to what can be found here.
The album sounds forced and dated. It displays more theft than any other album released under the gallagher name.

After more listens today, I can say I really dislike the middle of the record. Be Careful what you wish for and Black and White Sunshine are so boring it is stunning. A really funny bit is actually the first instrumental, both brothers seem to write the same melodies as it has the same melody as Liam's "All My People". What I also wonder - why having a producer, who talks one into writing songs in the studio, but fails to mention "Hey Noel, your riff here in Be Careful What You Wish For is exactly the same as in Come Together, please scrap that". Sorry, but this song is the worst rip-off in years and I totally get accusations Oasis/Noel is just ripping off songs with this tune. Other than that I do like the rest of the record, but so far I prefer Chasing Yesterday.

[...] This album has some really good songs on it, but also too many average ones. Don't feel the need to have 3 instrumentals. I loved Chasing Yesterday but after so many listens I questioned whether Noel could do a classic album with him singing all of the songs and again I am feeling the same here. I often sit thinking what Liam would have sounded like if he had sang on a track and think that if Noel had made the last 2 albums with Liam singing the majority of the tracks then we would be sat here talking about 2 modern day classics.I totally agree with you! Noel is a great songwriter but his vocals just don't do it for me. His songs would be amazing and taken to another level with Liam's vocals! Not hard to understand, considering that was the magic formula behind Oasis One can only dream now I guess

This is my thoughts after giving the album a repeated listen today. I could change my mind after more listens. I wish there had been more faster tracks like Holy Mountain.
Overall, a great album, but it is becoming apparent the instrumentals replacing normal songs is leaving me feeling short changed.
Fort Knox - 7/10 - Good opener
Holy Mountain - 10/10 - still one of the best tracks on the album. I loved it when I first heard it, and my opinion hasn't changed over time. Maybe I like it even more now in context of the album itself.
Keep on Reachin' - 6/10 - Nice and catchy
It's a Beautiful World 8/10 - I really like it now
She Taught To Me How To Fly - 9/10 - another standout track for me. Upbeat, happy, summer.
Be Careful What You Wish For - 4/10 - weakest song on the album. Sounds like we are back in DOYS territory
Black & White Sunshine - 9/10 - upbeat, happy track. Another great one.
Interlude - 6/10 - nice, but a bit pointless
If Love is the Law - 9/10 - another great upbeat track. Could go up a point on repeat listens
The Man Who Built The Moon - 8/10 - solid, big tune. DYKWIM meets Gas Panic, but actually much better
End credit - 7/10 - nice, but again pointless
Dead in the Water 8/10 - we are back in strong B side territory with this one, but more B side from Oasis Mk2 era. Good song.

Best solo work yet from the chief IMHO. Kudos for trying something different and outside his comfort zone (for the most part). Also loving David Holmes production work, multi layered, intricate and a pleasure to listen to.
For me it is a far superior piece of work than As you were....

Tell us how you really feel. Considering he was calling the album shit and that he would not be buying it weeks before it even leaked, I'd say he had the above drafted and ready to go before even listening to it (if he has even done that) Let’s be honest, many had written their reviews of this well before hearing it, vice versa with Liam. Anything to prop up their sad and pathetic Noel v Liam battle. My own personal opinion is I prefer Liam as a human being over Noel. I think Noel is acting a dick these days (particularly with his Brexit comments) but musically speaking, I fully expect this album to be far superior to As You Were which I really like anyway. I’ve not yet listened but I’m basing it simply because I’ve loved all the songs I’ve heard so far. The sense of abandon, joy and mystery that I’ve heard in the batch of songs I’ve heard are incredible. That, and the reviews are great. Let’s be absolutely clear, Liam’s songwriting team have really delivered for him. But professional songwriters who’ve worked with Adele up against the man who wrote Live Forever? If you’ve got more faith in the other lot over Noel, then you’re really on the wrong fucking forum. This is Noel Fucking Gallagher - songwriting genius. The others are good but, come on, there’s only one Noel Gallagher. As ever - judging it on these talents - the bottom line is the music, looking at it objectively and forgetting about pathetic tribalism.
