"[Russell Pritchard] said: 'Do you know what that sound is? That’s the sound of Liam glassing himself'. "Then on the night it was on the TV, somebody quipped: It’s almost like she’s snipping away at the last ribbons of Liam’s sanity!" People around Noel seem to mention Liam a lot, especially if it's true that Gem and Chris also tell 'toe-curling' stories about him... I'm sure Liam could tell some gem & Chris stories.... again not sure it's a good idea for Noel to open that can of worms or Pandoras box... I cant imagine there being many Gem stories. Maybe one time when he had a 4th Becks. He's so fucking boring its untrue.

The people who dont like this record are people who worship John Lennon? And i guarantee their grandparents drove him out the country? Seriously? Is anyone having this shit? We have gone from not liking Holy Mountain to being told what our grandparents did and in some fucked up way that means its ironic to not like Holy Mountain?
It reminds me kind of like when one of your mates has completely fucked up by shagging a 3/10 the week before and now you're all in the pub ripping him all night and he is just doing his absolute best to play it cool and remind everyone about the 12 Jaegerbombs and the possibility something got put in his Heineken.
This is a man who openly slams an album containing D'you Know What I Mean, Stand By Me, I Hope I think I Know and It's Getting Better Man, and hes sat there defending Holy Mountain like it's fucking Let It Be.

Honestly, this could be the best track he's done since Gas Panic. That intro is just demented. I know it's a bit far fetched but a bit of the intro reminded me of The Divide by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals Hell yea GP&N! So sad that they're done. The Divide was heavy as fuck live.

Noel’s been straight up talking nonsense since 1994. Goes with the territory.

A fascinating interview as expected. I thought one of the most revealing things was when was he talking about fans thinking If I Had A Gun and Dying of the Light were overproduced and then his annoyance that some were saying Dead in the Water should have been properly recorded. Surprised me that he took notice of those remarks and suggests he has a thinner skin than I thought in regards to reactions to his music, which is all too clear when you think if his previous comments about Guardian reviews and the like. Shines a whole new light on the "parka monkeys" thing as well. To be honest, the fan’s verdicts on overproduction only really come from this site. And they’d be correct! But I can’t see how a studio version of Dead In The Water would improve on the perfection of this live version we got. It may be nice merely as an alternative, but the version we have now is so pure. Noel’s decisions in this album cycle creatively have been spot on - the collaboration with Holmes is an absolute joyful experience and the release of this raw Dead In The Water was as good as it was going to get. Top top top marks Noel, from a harsh critic of previous records, I think you’ve absolutely knocked this out of the park. P.S. I’d like to think that this forum contributed in the demise of Noel’s partnership with Dave Sardy!I’d like to take a huge percentage of credit for that for blasting Sardy and his generic production for years on this forum. Kick him to the bin forever!

This whole Charlotte thing is bullshit. He wouldn't have been surprised about the Scissors when rehearsing for Jools Holland because they already made a video in which she wears a cape and plays the scissors!

Myself and the father listened to this in the car on the way home. We both thought the Liam bits were hilarious! Oh well, some people are far too uptight on here.

Ugh. I couldn't finish the interview... too smug for me. Have you ever met a certified genius? I deal with them a lot where I work. They are always smug and socially awkward. I think we forget this about Noel. He's a very wealthy and famous person, but even money can't buy one's way out of the things that come with genius. Hawkings is a genius, Einstien is a genius, Noel Gallagher is a very good songwriter.

Just couldn't get into it except for Empty Heart occasionally. Oh well. Maybe her next effort will be more like the old days.

The track by track interview makes the album sound like David Holmes ft. Noel Gallagher. Who's album is it really? Seems like Noel was barely there for a lot of the creation process.
