He's right though Green day are awful. He's wrong though, Green day are brilliant. It depends on your personal taste. Green Day was my favorite band and music to listen to in the few years before I discovered Oasis, allthough I still like both of them. Oasis and Green Day were influenced by many of the same artists like The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Sex Pistols etc, so it's not so weird to like them both. Both have melodic sensibility, joyus rock anthems and raw emotion. It's really just a slightly different take on many of the same elements. I don't particulary like the Foo's or Green Day but I still don't really get why Noel is going on about them.

Not really unexpected coming from Noel considering how "stodgy" his last two albums have sounded (for the most part at least).

Could've been for Billie Joe Armstrong being heavily inspired by "Wonderwall" when writing Boulevard of Broken Dreams, but then again you don't hear Noel criticise Fran Healy and Travis for "Writing To Reach You".

Well at least he said "good luck to him" I suppose.

That's hardly a roast. Considering all the insults Liam sends his way, I'd call it fair play. Liam himself might even agree it's good banter. The host egging him on made me cringe, though. As do all the journos trying to provoke Liam into a nasty soundbite. As did the kid on Twitter who called it a life highlight. All insects living vicariously through their betters.

I think Noel once said Billie Joe totally ripped him off, but that he doesn't really have a leg to stand on when it comes to that, so he was ok with it.

I prefer these sort of replies. Banter is fine. And can be funny, without descending to name-calling, mud-slinging.

Green Day are turbo shit. I'm not even sure why this is up for discussion.

It can be funny, but it's also sad that only thing left in their relationship is making nasty jokes about each other.
