So was this Virgin interview a complete waste of time? Y.e.s Should have figured. I mean this topic doesn't even have its own thread for crying out loud! How important can it be?

Should have figured. I mean this topic doesn't even have its own thread for crying out loud! How important can it be? They played Pulp's Disco 2000 (Motiv 8 mix) so it was not a complete waste of time. Made me feel 20 years younger

So was this Virgin interview a complete waste of time? From the bits I heard, yeh. It was also a pre-recorded interview, which is fine, but nothing new.

Hate when he goes into dad mode. "These kids and their rock n roll, what are they on about?"

Didn't bother him all the years his brother "shouted" on the records, and in the gigs that ultimately paid for his 4 houses, his black American express card, and for his family to live as comfortable as any of us, 1000 times over.

The record might be full of joy, but he sounds more bitter than ever.
Again with the foo fighters and green day? What a hell is his problem?

It reminds me a bit of John Lennon laughing off the very concept of rock bands as passe and juvenile, when the interviewer brought up people's issues with Yoko being so predominant in his post-Beatles work: There are worse midlife crises than being in love and not wanting to look back, but Christ almighty they both come off as insufferable twats. There's not looking back and then there's having blinders on to anything but what you're about now.

Dave Grohl is only 2 years younger than him, still "shouting" successfully. Maybe that bothers Noel, idk.

Again, when has Noel ever not been grumpy in some interviews? Why is this suddenly surprising for some people?

Spent the evening playing cheesy Xmas tunes. I enjoyed it. It was joyous, even. There was no shouting, just mellow, soft voices singing about times when the world was a better place. I shall go to bed feeling revolutionary!

Shame Spitting Image isn't still a thing. Noel's grumpy old man sctick would be gold on there. In fact I'd think both Gallaghers would feature heavily.

He's right though Green day are awful. He's wrong though, Green day are brilliant. It depends on your personal taste. Green Day was my favorite band and music to listen to in the few years before I discovered Oasis, allthough I still like both of them. Oasis and Green Day were influenced by many of the same artists like The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Sex Pistols etc, so it's not so weird to like them both. Both have melodic sensibility, joyus rock anthems and raw emotion. It's really just a different take on many of the same elements.
