That was the interview that I've been hoping for.. when he drops the grumpiness and sanctimonious attitude..he really is a beautiful genius. If he continues giving us those moments, then my attitude towards him will change. I love the passion in his voice when he tells me about his songs, I want him to convince me as to why I should like the songs. I'm really hopeful that I can connect to "Dead in the water"... that's what I'm missing in his latest songs. I can't emotionally or physically connect to the songs, that's not to say they're horrible..i just don't enjoy them.. It's just background noise for me. He doesn't need to insult his fans or Liam's, let the music do the job. Well, done Noel! 🤞👏

finally an intelligent interviewer You can say that again. Amazing interview, I hope everyone on this forum watches it and it might calm down some of the hate here. That's the Noel I think people were missing. Really interesting, no bullshit, and he talks just as Liam would 'if people don't like it, so be it, I make another record, calm down'. I hope Sara doesn't watch it though, those two have some chemistry, one wonders what went down 20 years ago...

First great interview and it's about time. My interest in Dead In The Water has spiked, nice story behind it.

What a great interview. He hasn't lost it yet.
I'm really curious for the album, but also for Dead in the water. Seems like a magical moment.

I'd suggest EVERYONE on this forum to watch the part from 10:15 to 11:00 minutes.
Wise words from the man himself.

Well to be honest in the few interviews he's done later, not just this one, he sounds way more comfortable and calm, and he's more willing to show his funny and witty side At the start of this campaign he sounded nervous and seemed to have lost what made his interviews so enjoyable in the past

That's probably the most interesting and sincere interview Noel has done in years. Great watch.

Guess he finally realized there's no need to offend those who don't like his new tunes. At last.

So no b-sides? God Help Us All the only other new track outside of the album?

And finally an interviewer who asks him about the music. He's a songwriter FFS. And he has a new album out. Don't ask him random things.

An excellent watch - the interviewer was top class, thoughtful questions with a real intrigue for the answers. This is the type of interview from a Gallagher that makes you switch off from everything else and just listen to what's being said. The parts about Don't Look Back In Anger and Dead In The Water were particular highlights.
Thanks frjdoasis for posting!

So great to see him address potentially negative response to the new material with a level headed sincerity. Maybe I'm wrong but the impression I get is the negative reaction to the songs released so far has taken Noel by surprise, I think he thought people would just go along with it. But now he's had a bit of time to digest the idea that the album might be divisive, he seems to have accepted that every great artist faces criticism when they take risks with their material. When he's relaxed and philosophical about that sort of thing rather than defensive it makes his interviews a far more pleasant watch/listen.
