Terrible cover. Black Roses is a tune actually and it has pretty great melodies on the verses, but Ian's cover sounds like a highschool band. Maybe the fact that his sons helped him with the album is more of a con than a pro. The album finisher is a cover of a reggae song too,so I hope they don't mess it up

New songs alright. The ending sound like the roses. And the lyrics are clearly refering to the band and its end

I'm listening to it as I type. Currently the second track Black Roses. I like it so far. It's much better than the 2 singles Roses released after they were reunite.
Really hoping to see him solo again after 9 years. I've got my dancing shoes on!

I prefer it above Ashcroft's last two albums.

2nd day of listening to this. Some great grooves, catchy, and well produced.
Maybe it loses is way slightly in the last 3rd, and I'm reserving judgement on the last track for now.

Right, after a few days of listening to this album the only two tracks that sticked with me are FWP and Breathe And Breathe Easy (save for the preachy acapella bit in the end). The last track is alright at best. As for the rest of the album, I'm really underwhelmed. There may have been some good songs in there, but it all dissipates under the shoddy DIY production. I know that it's Ian Brown after all, and for every solid tune on an album there has to be a stinker or two, but still, what a letdown. I'm puzzled that The Guardian rated this album 4/5.
Apparently he's working on the next album already, and while my expectations are significantly lower now, I hope to be positively surprised.

It's quite understandable that the album is mediocre as fuck. His sons helped him with the tracks and you can notice this since the chords and the melodies sound like something a high school band would do. Specially the Black Roses cover. The only song I find quite enjoyable is Blue Sky Day,but even that one is dull and repetitive in the end. The production is alright. Let's be honest,Ian Brown (along with Morrissey) hasn't really got any decent albums. Yes,there are a lot of great tunes since his first solo album but not a solid album at all. But this one don't got a single song that I feel I'm atracted at. It's a shame but well.

His new song has randomly dropped today. Little Seed Big Tree.
Clearly has Lockdown themes. Also his Drummer must have had the day off!
It would appear his controversial Covid tweets the other day have attracted attention (Rightly or Wrongly) Someone did say the other day though "He must have an album coming out"

A completely talentless one to boot. He got lucky during the Roses reunion that the crowd sung every word because he's a tuneless oaf.
