I feel the same, he's got a lot of good tunes but the albums are weak as a whole. Is the same with Morrissey in my opinion, some solid singles, really good songs, but I only like 1 or 2 from each album. Thats exactly how I feel about Morrissey too mate. And the same to Johnny Marr. Mozz got a new album coming next friday, and I will listen to it but I will probably like 4 or 5 songs. Must say that Spent The Day In Bed is one of his greatest tunes though. And with Johnny Marr is the same thing. Love New Town Velocity,Back In The Box,Easy Money and even the cover he did on Depeche Mode. But albums..meh. At least the last one by Ian got some good songs. Just Like You,In The Year 2525 and the brilliant Stellify. Yeah Stellify is for me one of the best songs of the 00's. You should check out The Right Thing Right by Marr, is really good, to me is how The Smiths should sound like in this decade if they reformed. By the way, I'm from Spain too, and the Roses did an amazing gig here at FIB in 2012, probably the best gig I've ever been to.

Sería de mala educación hablar en español así que mejor seguir con el inglés,pero por fin me encuentro a alguien de España! I envy you so much,I was at FIB this year and it was great seing Liam and Kasabian, and there were rumours about the Roses performing this year and I was so hyped, but then they split so I guess I will never see them

I love his solo records. Actually all of them. It does not happen very often that I love all albums by one artist/band. All of his records have a lot of texture and character. Great music, I find it very enjoyable and fresh in sound. Seen him live in 2010 in Moscow. Was a great show in a very small venue.

I don't like any of the albums tbh, don't really think he's got a perfect record. Most of the songs are really poor. I was so interested in Music Of The Spheres, but there were only 3 tunes that I loved. The record 'The Greatest' is gold, but that doesn't count. I love so many tunes, being FEAR one of my favourite songs ever. But entire albums...not for me Yep, it's excellent, but in all honesty, it's the only Ian Brown album you need.

He released two more albums after that, both of which have multiple excellent songs. Sister Rose, Goodbye all the Broken, Stellify, Vanity Kills and many more.

Viva Hate, Your Arsenal and Vauxhall and I wouldn't be out of place in The Smiths canon. Think they are fantastic works but he's a bit more miss then hit over recent years. Ian Brown, non of his solo stuff comes close to matching his Stone Roses stuff but I think Golden Greats and Music of the Spheres are very good works. Stellify and Fear are fantastic singles especially Fear. Seen him live is very hit and miss, saw two gigs of his in Dublin a few months apart around 2005/06. one he played the Olympia on a cold November night, was fantastic, played two or three Stone Roses songs and his best solo stuff. Then a few months later on a warm June night saw him give one of the worse gigs I've ever seen at Dublin Castle, he could barely sing, no joke did around 6 cover versions most of them Bob Marley songs. He was blown off Stage that day by The Kooks of all bands who just released their first album.

Seems like we’re always doing that with anything related to the members of the Stone Roses...

Ian Brown's new single is better than Richard Ashcroft's last two albums combined.

From his mailing list:
Ian Brown has released a brand new single, ‘First World Problems’, his first solo material in nine years. The single precedes the new album ‘Ripples’, which will be released on March 1, 2019.
Ian produced ‘Ripples’ as well as writing the majority of tracks on the album. Three of the songs were co-written with his sons, who also play a multitude of instruments across the release. Covers of Barrington Levy’s ‘Black Roses’ and ‘Break Down The Walls’ by Mikey Dread complete the album.
The album was recorded in Liverpool and enhanced in the Beatles room at Abbey Road Studios, before being mixed by long-term collaborator Steve Fitzmaurice. The record was digitally mastered by Bob Ludwig in New York, while the vinyl was mastered by Chris Bellman in LA.
Ian Brown has retained complete creative control of the project - producing the album, directing the video (to be released soon) as well as creating the artwork himself and playing guitar, drums and a host of other instruments throughout the record.
Tracklisting for ‘Ripples’ as follows:
FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS
BLACK ROSES
BREATHE AND BREATHE EASY (THE EVERNESS OF NOW)
THE DREAM AND THE DREAMER
FROM CHAOS TO HARMONY
IT’S RAINING DIAMONDS
RIPPLES
BLUE SKY DAY
SOUL SATISFACTION
BREAK DOWN THE WALLS (WARM UP JAM)
I'm listening to "First World Problems" as I type. At least this song is better than 2 crap singles the Roses released past year. Saw the Roses twice and Ian solo twice, hopefully he'll on the road again once album is out.

Never saw the stone roses live and didnt want to,seen browny live 15 times and cant wait for the new tour
