Even if you don't care about Andy Bell or Ride, you should really check out this tune:

Andy seems like a cool guy and I'll always love him for writing Vapour Trail, which is a fucking amazing song. Also, Ride are doing well at the moment plus I think Russell is a much better fit for NGHFB. He adds a lot and is very likeable.
On the subject of Gem co-writing with Noel: please don't.

Wiki credits Jason Falkner and Samuel Dixon with the bass on the album. Not sure who played on Holy Mountain though. Jason Falkner played the bass on HM Finally getting round to asking a question I've had in my head for ages - why does Noel (and other artists) use session musicians for their album work, but then gets their band members to learn and play live? Why not get the band to do it in the first place? I'm guessing money and contracts comes into it somehow, but I've thought it a strange way of doing it.

Didn't Noel play most of the instruments on the album by himself? If he could clone himself by eight, he wouldn't even need a band. Although the clone probably wouldn't know how to play the pan pipes and the scissors like Cape Girl.
