I?m sorry guys, everyone's entitled to their opinion, to each their own and all that stuff... I've been in this place for almost 14 years and I've read very few things more hilarious than someone saying Holy Mountain is better than Supersonic. You can possibly chalk it off as hysteria? Or summat. I dunno, I’m just trying to reason. It’s Trump’s fault. Trump? I DUNNO.

Or could it be the crazy, unbelievable, bizarre, strange notion that someone actually doesn't rate Supersonic that highly (shock, horror!), and enjoys listening to Holy Mountain more (even bigger shock, horror!) People having different tastes in what songs they prefer....that idea just sounds plain batshit crazy to me, I don't know about you...

You keep repeating yourself. We get it... You've bad taste. We had a room mate in college. Good kid. But he was into Millivanilli and Risk astley etc. we thought we would help the guy out. Bought him some Smiths. a Stone Roses. Oasis. Damn if he said he preferred his plastic pop. Bad taste in music is easy to spot. Here is the test: If some guy says Dave Mathews is unbelievable. He’s got bad taste in music. If some guy says that nickback has a couple of tuuumnnrs. I think you have an answer. If some guys says Noel’s solo stuff pisses all over the holy trinity. Yup. You know.

Woke up singing it today. Always a good sign. Think the album version will be a lot better, live it sounds a bit empty and flat.

Especially the "the one I looooove" bits were a bit annoying and didn't sound that hot. It's kind of catchy and sounded better in the clip though, so I'm sure it sounds much better on the album indeed.

It will sound great on the record but the song itself is not that much. The same verse and the put your money where your mouth is part. Shame

It doesn’t make me wanna give myself a lobotomy like HM. But I find it incredibly dull and repetitive. Songwriting wise, it’s about as interesting as The Good Rebel, but with a dash of Joy Division/New Order-isms thrown in to make it seem like something new (forget that a million faceless indie groups have been ripping off that guitar style/drum beat forever now.)
The opening lyrical section (is it “the one I love” or just “wa la la”??) goes on for a ridiculously long time and should have obviously been cut in half. Feels like the song should end at the 3:00 mark but then just keeps going with yet another round of the put yer money where yer mouth is section, which we’ve already heard plenty of by that time (though it’s admittedly better than more of the main bit.)
All in all, it feels like a b-side I would eventually forget about or a bit of album filler that I would usually skip but may listen to every once in a very long while.
Man. I was hoping this would be the NG album I’ve wanted for two decades. But three tracks in and I’m massively deflated. I guess I was expecting too much.

With Be Careful What You Wish For I'm really curious. The melody seems to be great and its an slow song which I must say is my favourite thing in Noel's music. The slower tracks is something that Noel nails. And IABW is supposed to be another slow one. People seem to love it. B&W Sunshine its a classic uptempo rock song so I gotta say I'm still hyped.

Yeah She Taught Me How To Fly is really Noel trying to sound like his 80s heros. I mean, Oasis a its own sound, and NGHFB also had a very unique sound, but that song is probably the first time Noel is sounding like someone else. Maybe the studio version will fix that.

Only watched his Jools performance last night birchy kindly uploaded and I liked this song. I also think Holy Mountain sounds a lot better live. The drum intro of She Taught Me How To Fly reminds me "Holidays In The Sun" by Pistols (only drum intro) and rhythm reminds me this legendary song which is a good thing. ( guigsysEstring will agree) Don't forget, Noel was born in late 60's and a huge The Smiths and The Jam fan. He was grown with all those "pop" songs.

It makes sense because after that he sings "she's divine".

I'm not too sure about the verse to chorus transition but I'm really liking this. Been stuck in my head all day. btw, anyone else get bad flashbacks when he starts singing "Put your money where your mouth is"? Like come on, noel. You could've used anything besides that. "You know my lovin' comes with patience". Idk anything but that.

Also used on the (arguably) best episode of classic British comedy 'Only Fools & Horses' Some classic songs from across the genres for the seventies and eighties, certainly enough to inspire a budding musician like Noel into discovering current and older records along with creating his own songs

I'll wait until the studio version to rate it, but... too repetitive. Sounds like a bonus track from CY.

It's "the one I love". It makes sense because after that he sings "she's divine". I thought so too at first listen. But then other people kept referring to it as wa la la and I’ll be damned if that didn’t sound exactly like what he was singing, ha!

btw, anyone else get bad flashbacks when he starts singing "Put your money where your mouth is"? If the next song we hear contains the phrase "I can see a liar", I'm positive he's doing it just to fuck with us.

Great cover mate! Very Oasis-ish/Stone Rosey. One can only imagine how epic this tune would be with Liam on vocals and if Liam and Noel could pull off a melody harmony in the chrous akin to Columbia (Liam on low notes and Noel on a different higher melody.) I guess you're the closest we'll get to that

someone already said something about Early Oasis pre Def Maybe..
the line 'put yer money where yer mouth is' I've got the same feeling as when I heard Lock All The Doors from '93 for the 1st time (way before NG's take, mind you). powerful and melancholic at the same time.
