While this may be irrelevant for Noel and for some here, the fact is, Noel is at an all time low with Oasis fans. As I said, I'm just stating a fact. Whether it's an important or an unimportant fact, it's up to each one's judgement. Bingo! Noel has always been a jerk, but he was our jerk. Now he is just a jerk.

If there was any good time for Noel to cover Positively 4th Street, it's now.

If there was any good time for Noel to cover Positively 4th Street, it's now. This forum would go CRAZY if he ever did that. Imagine the vitriol on here as Liam tweets his retorts and covers How Do You Sleep with lyrics changed to directly reference Noel.

In fairness to the thread starter, Noel has had stinker regarding PR this year. He won’t care. We won’t care if the album is great. But a stinker he has had.

I think Noel has changed a bit over the last few years all it comes down to is whether you like that change or not. I don't think its any more shocking to say you still like him the same or that you don't think the same of him any more.
I don't see what the big deal is or why people get so upset by it.

He has changed there is no doubt in my mind. He's very different than he was when Oasis broke up. Maybe it's new found confidence from being a frontman or whatever but he's coming off douchey in the latest round of interviews. The douchiness before was more sarcasm..he just seems like a pompous ass these days.

I've got nothing to add to these posts: I see absolutely nothing different with Noel. He's always been arrogant, he's always worn sunglasses all the time, he's always had celebrity friends that he's name dropped, he's always shown discomfort with the fans. Down to earth guy?!!!? Who the hell are you talking about. Not the Noel I've been listening to since 1994. He's always been a bit of a dick, very witty, and a bit closed off. Liam's always been more open, more of a people person, and forever crossing lines that he shouldn't cross. THEY'RE THE SAME PEOPLE. This kind of agenda is tiring. Liam fans will excuse behaviour from their dude that they would crucify Noel for. It's no different from the way people choose sports teams or political parties these days. Depressing. Oasis fans criticising one of the Gallagher's for being an arrogant prick still makes me laugh... I've been on this forum for years, and honestly? I've never seen it this divided, hilarious. Just enjoy the music.

Noel has been an introverted prick since 1997 roughly. Who cares?

Some people like it I guess (radiohead fans must be loving this new Noel) but to me it's just plain boring and cringeworthy, and against a lot of the things he used to stand for. Remember when he used to say that he was only making music, not curing cancer? Right now he acts like he's curing AIDS.

But I don't think Noel has billed this as anything more than him being on a great musical journey of self discovery. Like, I love the talk of his process right now (you could be referring to something else in your post). I always thought that him talking about songs falling from the sky was the most cringe worthy bs he's ever floated. Like, that's not how songwriting works. Noel talking about this process has been extremely honest, which I find far more inviting and refreshing.

Yeah, I miss that Noel tbh Also did he really say he's on "a great musical journey of self discovery"? If he did you're just proving OPs point because if that's not being up your own arse I don't know what is.

Will this put you off buying his music because of it?

Noel made the musicians on his latest album kneel before him before allowing them to enter the studio, the massively pretentious arrogant bar steward...
And I fecking love it.

But it isn't just them is it. Anyone who is seriously upset and bothered about what either brother says needs to grow up and get a life. I agree but while some people are upset about it a lot of people are simply making an observation and commenting on it which is up to them and those people are not as you said "liam lovers".

It's difficult not to make assumptions these days on this forum, as there does seem to be 2 camps forming. The Liam lovers/Noel haters, and vice versa. I hope I am wrong...

I don't mind him acting like a prick, because that's what made him (and Liam) popular in the first place and don't you ever forget that But from what I see, Noel has become a boring prick. I cannot see the quick wit and sense of humor he had when he was on Jonathan Ross or Alan Carr just two years ago.
