I love how over the top people are about Noel right now. He’s already had 2 #1 albums and sold out tours. Why is he now shaken by Liam? They are both doing their own things and succeeding. That is a good thing. Liam’s success has no impact on Noel or vice versa. In a month noel could have his third #1. Then what will the people say? Let's be real here, Noel will very likely get another #1. Also, Liam being successfull/in the news so much lately is a good thing for Noel - free publicity for the Gallagher name.

I was at a wedding tonight where the DJ randomly played that Plastic Bertrand tune...
...completely cleared the dance floor!

The charts have more to do with Noel missing half a week worth of sales by releasing it on a Monday and it receiving almost no promotion. It's not an easy argument to say it charted at #70, therefore people didn't like it. He lost only two days.Wall of glass had one day of sale and charted.I think the problem is the song not being good. But will see in the next weeks, maybe I'm wrong and the song will be a hit.Who knows? Charts begin counting on Fridays. So, he missed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That's three days. That's a massive disadvantage, especially with no Noel to promote it. Whereas Wall of Glass had Liam front and center selling his music.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b096z1t3#playListen to around 9 minutes on Steve Lamacq's Roundtable discussion where they discuss the week's releases. Huge praise for it from all the music critics. ' One of the best pop records he's ever made'. ' A great fun record'. ' Better than his brother's record'. Ouch.....but they're right. Two 9/10s and one 8/10 from the panellists. Plus Steve Lamacq the host said he's been playing it all week, like many of us I guess. Don't think a Gallagher release has ever had quite this level of praise for a long long time.

I think it's great that one of the panelists wasn't a big HFB's fan (called them bland) and did think that it was really really good. I'm also glad that we're not the only "crazy" ones hearing what we're hearing. That it doesn't come down to a few people wanting to like it or being "Noel fans." That it's a legitimately good song.

Honestly i won't be surprised if this whole Liam is The King Shit of the Mountain Fuck hype eventualy will burn out as soon as Noel release his album and it will have good reviews and all.And that would be a shame cause i really like what Liam's doing right now, but that's just my experience with this forum and Oasis fanbase in general. Quite sad, but can't help seeing it this way sometimes. Surely Noel's next single will be more singable and then most people will go into THE CHIEF THIS IS BETTER THAN DONT LOOK BACK IN ANGER mode. You will see.

Seeing as a select few Liam fanboys on here seem obsessed with chart ratings and 'commerciality', then they might as well go off and compare photos of which member of One Direction they fancy.

Round Are Way used stream of consciousness lyrics to paint a picture of life in working class Manchester.
Holy Mountain is the song version of Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch and screaming about Katie Holmes. There's no subtlety in that repetition.
SHE FELL, SHE FELL, RIGHT UNDER MY SPELL SHE FELL, SHE FELL, RIGHT UNDER MY SPELL SHE FELL, SHE FELL, RIGHT UNDER MY SPELL SHE FELL, SHE FELL, RIGHT UNDER MY SPELL
HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY HAPPY HAPPY, JOY JOY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY JOOOOOY!

It really is a fun, addictive, near brilliant track. I played it for my sister and brother in law who only listen to mainstream popular music and don’t hold any particular music biases, and on the first play they thought it was catchy but repetitive. On its third play in my playlist, my bro in law said “dude this track is a blast.” It makes you want to move! If you’re dozing off in traffic, play this song and you’ll be buzzing.

It's been a few days now and I think my feelings on HM are the same as ITHOTM when it came out. Upbeat, catchy, and clearly joyous - it's a fun song and you can tell Noel is enjoying himself. I'm happy about that. I'm all for taking a more 'out there' direction but this song is just okay to me. Nice but I'd be just as happy if it didn't exist. The clips (particularly She taught me to Fly) sound more interesting to me.
Whether I like it or I don't, it doesn't matter that much. I'm glad Noel's enjoying the music he's making and so many of you love it too.

I love how critics are loving it. Though the rest of Who Built the Moon will probably be different and more adventurous, it's a good indication that it'll elevate Noel from dad-rock parody of himself to a respected artist. It's about fucking time!

I don't think anyone cares about discussing his voice. There actually could be things said about Noel's voice and its relative strength at this point. That's obvious criticism. But you're making up a fantasy storyline that somehow Liam's success affects Noel's vocal....half way around the world. That's actually what's insane. I wasn't talking about his vocal I was making the point that for the first time I've ever seen him look nervous and unsure of himself Really? I didn't get that from the video at all. If anything he seems the opposite - far more confident on stage thee days, as though he is actually starting to enjoy himself. I've never seen Noel look like this before. Normally he just looks pissed off. Now he actually looks happy on stage.

Is it just me or does noel seem a lil less confident on stage now a days? Maybe liams success is really getting to him cuz he almost looks like a shell of himself up there it's weird. Watch this video Hilarious. I love how music discussion is relegated to yet another shitpost towards a petty and immature Noel v Liam debate. Worryingly, it all comes off as very insecure and paranoid too from the Liam fanboys. Grow up. Liam's got a very good album out. Now just go away and listen to that and stop trolling this section of the forum. You are right of course matt but I can't help but smile given your totally unecessary vitriol in the Liam/Beady Eye sections over the preceding few years. Just let people who enjoy it enjoy it huh? I think I learnt my lesson a few years ago in that regard, hopefully you've learnt it to now.
