As I'm not a massive fan of DM, I think the new single actually pisses all over quite a few tracks from DM. Only Rock n Roll Star, Live Forever and Slide Away are better tracks than HM. You think this is better than Supersonic?  |

The energy in Supersonic and Bring It On Down especially though is much higher than this, plus the melody, the chord sequences, the vocal, the live versions. Everyone is allowed their opinion, just sometimes it's hard to get your head around it.

When I read comments like this on YouTube I wonder if people take Noel's lyrics too seriously sometimes: "she smelled like 1969? you were only born in 1967, you were two. she must have smelled like rusks and milk"   It's 'she smiles' actually. That makes you one of only a handful of people who can make out the lyrics It's not an easy one to sing-a-long to. |

Everyone is allowed their opinion, just sometimes it's hard to get your head around it. Supersonic is not a fast tempo track at all. Part of the reason why I am not a big fan of it is because it is a bit too slow, and Bring it on Down is not very upbeat. HM has far more energy, and is more upbeat overall than both those tracks. I want a song to whistle along to and put a smile on my face after hearing it. HM does that far more than those 2 tracks. |

'She smells' just sounds weird for me. She smiles like 1969 makes more sense because yeah, hippies, Woodstock and all that stuff. |

Listened several times again.... still don’t like it at all.... it’s not the type of track that bothers me... I love that type of raveonettes rock. It’s the melody. Can’t stand it and would be happy to never hear it again. Oh well.  hoping the rest of album is amazing. |

First time i heard this i thought god what the fuk you done!?
listened again thought meh its alright. I then gave it 2 days break then listened again last night and thought yea mate this is amazing! Today listened to it like 20 times fukin love it! Better than his last 2 first singles he did in my opinion. The guy is a genius love it Noel been ages since i listened to a new song this much. Can't wait to hear it live will prob sound more like an Oasis track.

That's fair. I think it all comes down to taste, especially since this track and all of AYW are so different. I prefer most of AYW to this song, and its all taste. I've always been the one to prefer the slower Gallagher ballad to the quicker energetic songs. There are exceptions such as Morning Glory, but I just am a sucker for the slower or even darker songs. Doesn't mean I'm a fan boy of either brother or doesn't mean I like the output of one and despise the other. The WBTM trailer sounds like it will be up my alley, so I'm very excited. Like you said, its all down to taste. I've always preferred the quicker, energetic songs, which is why BHN is my favourite album, and why I rate HM so highly too. Bingo. Even with different tastes, we are all here for the same reason, so while tastes are different, in the end our tastes are still similar if we are all here. |

Don't mind at all mate! Wow, thanks very much glider. I'm not a big fan of the song at all but it was fun to play and sing, would like to hear a Noel version of it acoustically to see how it works out. Haha for some reason after I rendered the video the handclaps were really high in the mix, they were meant to be a lot lower but oh well. Thanks again man. The initial three album clips got me really excited about Noel's new material. This, however, has been a massive letdown. I welcome Noel's decision to finally branch out and experiment with his sound; I believe his knack for a killer melody can transcend across differrent styles of music and produce glorious results. But at the end of the day, a good song is a good song. And for me, this is just not a good song. The flute riff is pleasant enough and rather catchy, but overall this is throwaway and horribly produced. I remain optimistic about the other tracks.

I still keep giving it a few listens every day but I just get nothing from it. I don't hate it, I don't think it's terrible.. it's just so middle of the road that I don't care if I never hear it again.

I hope you don't mind me posting this Rolo . This is way more enjoyable than the actual song for me, you have a very special talent! Prefer the chord progression on your version - something delicate about it and your vocals are better than Noels. Unbelievable! (don't forget the handclaps  ) This is good! I like this version better and, ironically, it sounds several times like you're doing Liam singing Noel's song! |
