This debate is hilarious. Is it always like this on here?
I like the song more and more with each listen. I liked the video, and the fact that Noel looks like he's having fun during the making of a video should tell you a lot about his mindset at the moment. That's good enough for me, and if this bombs, he probably won't be genuinely hurt. He is a music maker, and he's making something that he enjoys and is having fun playing and creating with some of his heroes Weller and JFMarr. It's not like he needs the cash!
I try not to get into debates about comparisons cos the internet of 2017 means everyone gets polarised, and then any debate just becomes invalid. Put it this way, there's days when I don't even want to hear DM, live forever and slide away (ok, maybe not SA!!) included. And there'll be days I don't want to hear HM. Today tho, I want to hear HM, and whats coming next. Progress, evolution, diversification, experimentation, nerves, excitement. These are things you don't get listening to stuff thats already in your record collection. I last felt it whilst listening to the opening bars of the first Roses release in 20 years. And I'm looking forward to that drink-it-in-feeling I'll get when I first crack on WBTM.

I like the Holy Mountain video, but watching Noel was kinda awkward. This video made me realise once again how cool Liam is. I'm not slagging off Noel, I guess he is not any worse than most frontman out there, but Liam on the other hand is just outta this world cool, his presence and charisma are still unmatched to this day imo. Noel will be the first one to agree. His go-to joke is that he hated leaving Oasis, because he was all set: Stand to the side playing the guitar, get the spotlight for a couple tunes, get paid. Obviously he likes the solo life, but he's aware he's not a natural frontman. The video for Mighty I was probably truer to life than any music video ever. |

Way too many trolls and sorry to say, Liam fanboys on here. Everyone needs to cool down, seems Noel fans love the song, good news. I'm a Liam fan, i'm an Oasis fan and i'm a Noel fan. But i really don't like this song, sorry. And there are a lot of noel's fan out there that don't like this song. I'll wait till the album comes out, cos i really love the previews |

The lyrics appear to be par for the course and entirely in keeping with Noel's style of a mix of generic lines that seem to make sense about the mood of the song. The issue I have with Liam lyrically is that he seems to have a Beatles phrase or song title in his mind and then writes around that. I find it mildly irritating. But he does have some belters on AYW, my favourite probably being, 'Underneath my skin, there's a fire within, still burning' |

Also, I wish they'd do the Back in the USSR falsetto parts in the live version. To me, that's one of the highlights of the song. Maybe when Noel augments his band, we'll get them. Never understood why he did Heat of the Moment without the na-na-nas either since that's meant to be one of the main hooks of that song.
