I really wanted to like this, but I don't. Had about 5-6 listens now, and I find it very tiresome and annoying. I really can't stand listening to it. Don't think Noel's vocals sound very good here with the effects and the mix etc, it's like it's in a muddy/murky mix tossed together between the backing vocals and other instruments. On the other hand I'm also not sure if his voice might is suitable for this kind of singing style, feel like he's nagging me. The song itself is a bit like Do The Damage, but mixed with bad marching band music. I can understand why Noel said that his kids and the kids of his mates loved it, because it sounds like something a bunch of hyperactive six-year old kids would like jumping up and down to while on a sugar-rush. I love that Noel is trying something different and don't want him to make another Sardy-kind of record, but I just can't pretend to enjoy this song. Happy for those who like it, but it's not for me. I've cancelled my pre-order of the album, gonna wait and see if the rest of the singles are better. Some parts of the album trailer sounded good and interesting, like the drum beat in the first track, and A Beautiful World. The artwork is also looking good, so I might order it again if the other songs turn out to be better. Ok thanks Liam : ) My name is Håvard, but you're welcome . It's good to see as a fan of both Gallaghers that one can express a negative opinion on a piece of music made by one of them, and still be met with a smile.

I have no idea who Ricky Martin is (I'm not kidding), but some people like it and others don't. My shocking level was higher when I heard Bring The Light for the first time, but I liked the live version. I have all respect to the people who don't like/hate this song. Nobody has to like somthing you don't like just because others like. All opinion matters as long as nobody insult others. At this moment I'm enjoyning Liam's album and Noel's new single. The voice of reason - here here

Bit dissapointed. I've never had the urge to dance to anything, music doesn't hit me in that way. I sing along and like melodies that stick in your head. It's kind of blunt and airy sounding like the Vaccines, not what I was expecting at all. Thought my speakers were fucking up because of how i could barely make out any individual instruments.
It's good. I just expect greatness from Noel, the other clips sounded so vibrant and psychedelic, hopefully this is just the albums Bring The Light and the real stuff is yet to come. I've heard like a minute of She Taught Me To Fly and it just won't leave my head, can't fucking wait for that one!
Then again I love Heat of The Moment and Lock All The Doors which everyone on here seems to hate so it's probably just because of my personal taste.

Sleeping on it, my opinion has not changed. It's okay. It doesn't blow me away, but it's not bad either. I'll take it, for what it's worth.

Is everyone on crack? This song sucks so much. I want my Oasis back. I want Noel's beautiful hearbreaking acoustic soogs, not him trying to be a fucking glam rock dad rock 1950's beachboy ffs Still believe there'll be something great in this album...just not this This song is bringing my Oasis back. The loud, poppy Oasis of the BHN era, and not the dull crap Noel was writing in the noughties. The only way this song bring Oasis back is if it makes Noel's album flop so bad, that he will reunite Oasis after he's left without money.

Never thought I'd hear a Noel Gallagher song where my favourite thing on it is a tin whistle.

I've alway loved dancing to Plastic Bertrand's "Ca Plane Pour Moi" at parties, so we'll see about this one, but I'm not sure at all...

This seems to be a way more common point of view on here than I could have imagined - for me, dancing is like...the point. It's one of the primal ways music can affect you, just setting rhythms that your body will naturally want to follow physically. When you make me dance with vibrant music that also inflames my imagination (this one makes me think of a smoky dance carnival at night, with all flames and flutes 'n' shit ) then you're onto a winner for me. In a weird way, Idioteque is the same thing, just the mirror image.

Noel new stuff will divide people, think those who’ve moved on and want something new will enjoy, maybe those who clamour for Oasis days won’t be keen. Funny enough, I clamour for Oasis (the old Oasis, not the Mk2 crap), and this new stuff takes me right back to 96 - 97. Noel sounds like a happy songwriter again, upbeat, having a blast, and this song could easily be a track from WTS or BHN.

In a weird way I'm glad he's doing this so he can finally get it out of his system. The thing is when I listen to artists like Noel I don't expect to dance. You can experiment all you want but there's good pop and there 's crappy mainstream shitty pop. this sounds like the latter and that's why I can't get on board on this one. I'd rather have the dadrock confort zone songs over this No offence, but I'm kinda hoping you hate this album I'm hoping that too....

PROS: It's something different
CONS: It's not great.
Don't like Noel's vocal on it - just makes me cringe a bit! I'm still looking forward to the album, but I hope it's not full of these type of songs.

I'm still looking forward to the album, but I hope it's not full of these type of songs. Pros: Best thing he's done since BHN. Different to everything from the Mk2 Oasis shite, slightly different to his last 2 HFB albums, but back on form to the OTT Owen Morris BHN brickwall sound - YESSSS! Cons: Those who don't like BHN fast, poppy, upbeat, brickwalled tunes, but prefer shite from the Mk2 era will hate this, which makes it all the more sweeter!!

So this was Chris Moyles favorite track off the album?

I do really like artists that change and evolve over time, I just don't like what Noel is going for on Holy Mountain, I find it very cheesy and not very authentic.
The fact that we have gone from claims of ripping off some of the greatest bands of all time to Ricky Martin kind of indicates where we are with Noel right now.
I want to love it but for the first time i feel sad that I don't love it unconditionally as I usually would with a Gallagher output.
5/10

So this was Chris Moyles favorite track off the album? Great news, that means it's probably the weakest on the album.

The funny thing is that if the chorus went "And then she fell..." instead of "She fell, she fell", with the exact same notes and arrangement, nobody would have ever thought of the Ricky Martin comparison. So just because he's repeating those two syllables, people are comparing Holy Mountain to a song that is otherwise different in every single aspect.

Pros:
The instrumental is absolutely incredible. Dance-y, varied, FUN, bold, energetic, beautifully produced. A carnival of ecstatic dance. Might be my favourite High Flying Birds instrumental ever.
The chorus is catchier than ebola and as instantly fun as cocaine. Love it.
It's short and to the point, which means I'm never bored listening to it and have it on repeat.
IT'S JUST SO MUCH FUCKING FUN AND I CANNOT HEAR THAT CHORUS AND NOT SMILE.
Cons:
Noel's voice does it's job, but only just. This isn't where his voice naturally sounds and Holmes has done a good job giving it some welly.
The "my wife is an angel" type lyrics are getting a bit boring now. I respect how much he loves Sara, and I'm happy for him, but surely there are other things he could write about?
I want the outro to be extended - keep the party going!
