Noel hammering Liam in sales already, amazing really as Liam gone all out promoting, and still can’t get near Noel’s sales. Prob Liam has is he’ll never get the recognition Noel does as Liam didn’t write the bulk of his album and I think people see that.

You are aware of when FWIW was put out right? Not that Holy Moutain won't chart higher in the first week it just seems an odd comparision to make right now. Noel win. Cheers fanboy. If I had you show someone an example of one of those I would refer them to your posts.

I really wanted to like this, but I don't. Had about 5-6 listens now, and I find it very tiresome and annoying. I really can't stand listening to it. Don't think Noel's vocals sound very good here with the effects and the mix etc, it's like it's in a muddy/murky mix tossed together between the backing vocals and other instruments. On the other hand I'm also not sure if his voice might is suitable for this kind of singing style, feel like he's nagging me. The song itself is a bit like Do The Damage, but mixed with bad marching band music. I can understand why Noel said that his kids and the kids of his mates loved it, because it sounds like something a bunch of hyperactive six-year old kids would like jumping up and down to while on a sugar-rush. I love that Noel is trying something different and don't want him to make another Sardy-kind of record, but I just can't pretend to enjoy this song. Happy for those who like it, but it's not for me.
I've cancelled my pre-order of the album, gonna wait and see if the rest of the singles are better. Some parts of the album trailer sounded good and interesting, like the drum beat in the first track, and A Beautiful World. The artwork is also looking good, so I might order it again if the other songs turn out to be better.

The flute is an actual flute sampled from that Ice Cream track. The organ can be heard during the "get out of the doldrums" part.

I slept on it and no. Definitely no. Sounds like a mashup of a bunch of songs with a lot of loud noises for the sake of it They promised me 60s/70s psychedelia and I got 80s/90s shitty latin pop. Yuck what ? It sounds nothing like the 80s, the 90s and Latin pop ? WTF. It's no psychedelia either but definitely rooted in child music from the 60s, with hints of Dylan, Bowie and Roxy Music. Someone also mentionned plastic bertrand, definitely too. It's completely silly and i love it. Listened to it all morning and As You Were too, which also sound good after more listen (but pretty different). I the rest of the record is as good, then we're in for a treat. First thing it reminds me of is ricky martin, she bangs. It must not be that evident to americans or europeans but it's the kind of shit you would listen on radio over here.

Nah, that's a sample of a penny whistle - it was discussed earlier in this thread

Beginning to think that David Holmes is working as Slugworth's equivalent for LG.

It's really funny that I only come on these boards from time to time and yet somehow it's always the same people bitching about the same things... boggles me giblets Spot on. I find it amazing people take time out of their lives to come on here to just be negative. A lot of people on here pick between Liam/Noel for some bizarre reason, and that’s their narrative. Sad.

Like you? I'd say the response to this song was generally positive, most people if they aren't sure abou it have explained why without talking to much shite.

I just cancelled my pre-order. I tried again to like it this morning but no, just no. If the next singles are good, i will be happy to pre-order again but right now, complete disappointment. Another artist who sold out to the mainstream sound that´s easy to make.

Not at all, I really like this song a lot. Like half of Liam’s album. Think people maybe read it wrong, people can be negative it’s just some are negative and have a narrative before they’ve heard anything, it’s odd.
