I'm so sad right now, I can't believe this is what he wrote Go have a crywank, it'll make you feel better. ✌️ I tried, it didn't work. Going to ignore this shite & get on with life. Not everything Noel rights can be great eh. We wait.

That was the weirdest 4 minutes of my life. I don't know what just happened...
I'm not hating it like some people, it's quite good. I love the passion and fun in his vocal, really makes the song. I think it's the flutes...not digging. But they could grow on me.
Right, let's do Round 2!

It's 60s style, but it doesn't sound dated, it sounds modern. You can tell it's from 2017 and not from 1967, you know? Like Everything Now by Arcade Fire, for example. That one often gets described as sounding like Abba and all kinds of stuff, but it DOES sound modern. It doesn't sound like it was made in the 70s. Then there's stuff like some Beady Eye stuff (sorry to drag Beady Eye into this) that has a 60s style but also sounds dated. Does this post even make sense? Perfect sense. I know what you mean and I agree for the most part. I don't think it sounds that modern but again that's not a big deal to me as I love Brian Jonestown ffs! I'd say that it's EXACTLY what characterises Holmes' music. Whether it's his solo albums or soundtracks. "Modern" take on retro music.

Of course not everything he *writes* will be great. But heck, this is different for him. And it's dead catchy and is a good alternative to As You Were - which has given me, for one, more than enough 'bangers' and anthems to go off for now. I really like As You Were, but this crap about it being a 'classic' needs to stop. It ain't nowhere near close to at least four of Oasis' albums.

On second listen, I love how it's not his usual song structure. Good lyrics, no poor Noelisms in there. Good tempo, some very nice bass bits, nice harmonies as usual. He'll DEFINITELY get some new fans from this.
Even though the sound is completely different this is the closest he's come to the joyous ecstasy of Some Might Say. Could be a number 1 I think.

Song is pure madness! Love it.
Noel needs to try something new, we know he can write songs like IIHAG etc, glad he’s moving on and great work from Holmes.
I’d put this on above anything on Liam’s album, altho I like half that album, in reality it’s same old.
Exciting times.

I'm worried that the flute sample will never leave my head from now on. Verse melody is a bit monotonous but it works.
It's not a masterpiece but it's pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I really like it. More and more after each listen. I agree though that production sounds a little muddy . But a good wee tune

It's got the right tempo - but I get why you're skeptical because the main charts consist mainly of melancholy shite and this is the complete opposite. Depends whether it captures a mood I guess. Just that flute.....it's quite divisive.

I slept on it and no. Definitely no. Sounds like a mashup of a bunch of songs with a lot of loud noises for the sake of it They promised me 60s/70s psychedelia and I got 80s/90s shitty latin pop. Yuck

Yuck what ? It sounds nothing like the 80s, the 90s and Latin pop ? WTF. It's no psychedelia either but definitely rooted in child music from the 60s, with hints of Dylan, Bowie and Roxy Music. Someone also mentionned plastic bertrand, definitely too. It's completely silly and i love it. Listened to it all morning and As You Were too, which also sound good after more listen (but pretty different). I the rest of the record is as good, then we're in for a treat.
