I love every bit of it, what a damn catchy song!
Both Gallagher's looking to be at their post 90s peak.

I like the song, but really looking forward to hear more Fort Knox sound in his new album.

Sounds very much like a late Oasis era b-side. Similar to Those Swollen Hand Blues.
First NG single I’ve not really been able to make my mind up on first listen. Think I was just expecting something a bit more different that’s all.

It actually sounds like a mix between Mucky Fingers / She Must Be One of Us / The Mexican.
Not a great mix, indeed.

If you'd have told me a couple of the years ago that an new uptempo Noel Gallagher single based around flute samples, with dance production and brass riffs, would be considered less experimental then expected...
Seriously, though, I think this is gonna be the pop song for the album and a natural choice for lead single. I'd be suprised if the rest carries the same ultra-joyous mood as this one, particularly having heard bits of Fort Knox and Beautiful World.

Listened to it 3 times now. Can't get into it. Seriously needing a bit of As You Were now.

When the song first started my first thought was Bryan Ferry Let’s Stick Together from the intro. Wasn’t sure about it at first but after a few listens it comes clear it’s going to be one of those songs that get inside your head...

Its not really experimental at all, Noel might be doing things he hasn't before but this is firmly rooted in 60's pop music to my ears. That's not to say its bad, I like retro but its funny how many people bang on about things being to retro until Noel releases something. From the clips we've heard it doesn't sound like the rest of the album will be much like this. I don't mind it after a few listens.

My only problem with it are the verses, which sound a little stilted to me. As soon as you get to the chorus, though, you're rocking. Love the production too, filled with energy.
You'd have to be in the mood to listen to it, definitely, as it's such an overload of one emotion (pure joy) but I'm totally a fan.
Whoo-oh-ooooh!!

So Noel gets extra points for chucking a flute on it? I just listened to it on Spotify and WAL came on straight after, I find that song a lot more surprising still than Holy Mountain. As I said, I don't think its a bad tune but I don't really see why its being talked up sonically. Its a decent piece of 60's pop music.

I love retro and I'm obsessed with 60s music, and a lot of obscure songs as well, so it's all fine by me.

You can tell it's from 2017 and not from 1967, you know? Like Everything Now by Arcade Fire, for example. That one often gets described as sounding like Abba and all kinds of stuff, but it DOES sound modern. It doesn't sound like it was made in the 70s. Then there's stuff like some Beady Eye stuff (sorry to drag Beady Eye into this) that has a 60s style but also sounds dated. Does this post even make sense?

Exactly - you can have a song that clearly has retro influences without the song itself sounding retro.

I know what you mean and I agree for the most part. I don't think it sounds that modern but again that's not a big deal to me as I love Brian Jonestown ffs!

Meh Ballad Of The Mighty I was a top tune which sounded different. This is different and mediocre. Disapointed here. Hope I like the rest of his album. Otherwise I don't know if I will pay 46 euro to see him again.

The first 20 seconds I was thinking "What the fuck is this shit?" As it progressed I must admit I started to like it, that chorus is going to be in my head I think unless I finally give Liam's album a go
