Is everyone on crack? This song sucks so much. I want my Oasis back. I want Noel's beautiful hearbreaking acoustic soogs, not him trying to be a fucking glam rock dad rock 1950's beachboy ffs Still believe there'll be something great in this album...just not this Oasis are done. Since the day 1 when Noel and Liam took their own path, I've said to myself that I'll take whatever they bring us and let myself surprise. Never expected a song like this from Noel, but I'm a big fan of Roxy Music, so I can't say that I dislike this song.

I dunno man, Giants had some left field stuff for a happy band like Oasis in the 90's it was just a misguided force. WFL, Gas Panic, Go Let It Out, Fucking In the Bushes and Roll It Over were different and had something special in them. Just half of an album maybe Noel and Co. needed a few months to write more stuff. Keep in mind, both SOTSOG and Kid A came out same year. One in February, the other in October. Radiohead went places, dug deeper than most bands would ever dare. Noel kept the guitar, added choirs. Radiohead put the guitars away, found computers. I'm not massively into Radiohead purely because people who seem to really, really like them, are extremely pretentious about it - when tbh I find them pretty depressing. Don't get me wrong, they've got some top songs, but meh - I don't want to be depressed when I listen to a song. I liked them when I was a moody teenager.

He's getting slated on Twitter. Bit of a mistake this song perhaps. Ah, social media. The medium that gave anyone with the ability to type (even then, that's a push) and an internet connection the right to think their opinion matters In all seriousness, this is why they didn't release the single before his tour went on sale.

Am I the only one who hates the mix on this? It's like DOYS X 10 The problem is it's brickwalled. Mix seems fine, the mastering is to blame. But then again it's 2017 and it's Noel Gallagher, so that was expected. I think it's a bit of both. There's a Kramer Tape plugin-thing (it goes on the entire song, literally noise in the background) pretty high in the mix. It's usually used to give colour in an old fashion, kinda like radio-y to a mix. And it wasn't properly controlled at the mastering stage, it seems. Very specific frequencies that can bother the human ear. It'll sound bad in cheaper headphones cause they have much worse high ends, but it's sounding just fine in my Yamaha HS5s. At least it hasn't got that annoying digital distortion that's all over As You Were. I don't feel the mastering that bad here.

Don't really like that song at all, wouldn't really call it experimental, more like bland

I don't mind the song, but it's far from experimental for Noel, let alone for music in general.

I don't think this is at all representative of where the album itself is going to go, btw.
Anyone who hasn't, listen to 'Mirrors' by Rev & the Makers.
I'm not a massive fan of them, but that's one of the best examples of a concept album by a band willing to push their boundaries in recent years.
They have a few singles from that 'Mr Glasshalfempty' and 'Stuck On You' (the former being Arctic Monkeys-esque, the latter being NGHFB-esque), but overall it's a completely different type of album to what those songs suggest.
Noel actually commented on how good the album was and, considering it came out in 2015, it will have been around the time he was making WBTM?
So, my point is don't judge a book by it's cover - or its lead single!
It isn't experimental in as much as it's just different. It's not something Noel would have done as an album track or single on a previous album, though I do see it as something he may have done as a B-side.

I do like how he puts it into context in the article. Makes more sense. It does get better with every listen. I'll say it is probably a minute too long though.

On first listen I thought... well that was pretty average. Then I got back to work for 10-15 minutes... and BANG! The melody got stuck in my head. And now I heard it 10 times in an hour.
Noel, you friggin genius. This is insanely catchy, and when the song get's to ya you can't let it go. While I do love Liam's album, I have to admit this is the one I'm looking for. I have a feeling that this album will be my favourite Post Be Here Now Oasis related album.

I was like "hmm not too sure about this." and I went to bed with it stuck in my head and I woke up with it, stuck in my head and I needed to listen to it multiple times again because it is. So. Damn. Catchy.
