I dunno man, Giants had some left field stuff for a happy band like Oasis in the 90's it was just a misguided force. WFL, Gas Panic, Go Let It Out, Fucking In the Bushes and Roll It Over were different and had something special in them. Just half of an album maybe Noel and Co. needed a few months to write more stuff. Keep in mind, both SOTSOG and Kid A came out same year. One in February, the other in October. Radiohead went places, dug deeper than most bands would ever dare. Noel kept the guitar, added choirs. Radiohead put the guitars away, found computers. i never got the praise for Kid A. It's a great album but not the huge leap people said it was. It was a combination of old radiohead with pink floyd and Aphex twin with a touch of boards of canada.

Don't love it, it's alright but can't see me playing it that much, will give it a few more listens in hope something clicks. Noel's vocals annoy me on this one. Don't bother man.Its not alright. Its atrocious. If that wasnt noel and it came on the radio I'd quickly switch it off. Headache inducing cringy mess. He's so much better than this. Hope its the worst on the album

Went to sleep with this still in my head. Just woke up and guess what? It was still stuck in my head! I think I might have even dreamt about it. Christ. How can you say it is plodding or has no melody? It's the most catchy thing I've heard since Everything Now. Also, torturing myself and reading all of your comments was fun. What was less fun was the same people posting on every page how shit it is. Guys, we get it after one post, why bother? Steady now! That is pop perfection.

Chris Evans just played it for the first time and he didn't say a word about it.

i still dont hear it? the clip makes it more obvious that they dont really sound similar... It's really not unless you're tone deaf. The similarity is in the structure of the chorus which repeats the first word "she <word>, she <word>" which is fair. Here's She Bangs. If you can listen to that and think "Holy Mountain" sounds just like this, then son, you just might be tone deaf. Which could explain why you like the atonal singing of a certain someone on a certain song.

That was...really bad. I feel like that's proper old man trying to be cool music.
All the cheesy bits of noel are right out there.
God.
I know this album is going to be hit and miss because he's experimenting so I'll hold my breath for the hits.
This wasn't it -
To be fair Noel has always been woeful at choosing singles.
This could have been okay if the production on his vocals wasn't so weird. They need to be brought out much cleaner.
Just forgetting this song, I can't listen to it.
Makes me re evaluate if I've really underrated Liam's album!
Think I'll go back to For what it's worth / greedy soul live after all

Was excited after hearing the clips on the album preview, but this is awful.
Never thought I’d say that about a Noel release.

Well, people reaction on twitter is very mixed. A lot of criticism and comparison with "She Bangs"

Noel talking about the tune on Moyles. The flute is sampled.

Noel talking about the tune on Moyles. The flute is sampled. Seems a bit pointless to sample that. But it works. Great tune, but yeah it sounds like it was written in the studio.

Noel should do an album with UNKLE or Beyond the Wizard's sleeve. Love that stuff.

She Must Be One Of Us is an obvious b-side There're a few parts on Holy Mountain where the vocals really remind me of a Dylan.

I can't hear the She Bangs thing myself, actually.
Guess I'm tone deaf.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Lord Don't Slow Me Down yet. I'm also getting Wake up the Nation vibes.

She Must Be One Of Us is an obvious b-side There're a few parts on Holy Mountain where the vocals really remind me of a Dylan. Same here, completely. I love the production, and the melody isnt the best Noel has ever done obviously, but since the album was written in the studio, we should get songs like that, repetitive and upbeat. I dont think Noel can write a very intimate song in the studio with a guy watching him.
