I dunno man, Giants had some left field stuff for a happy band like Oasis in the 90's it was just a misguided force. WFL, Gas Panic, Go Let It Out, Fucking In the Bushes and Roll It Over were different and had something special in them. Just half of an album maybe Noel and Co. needed a few months to write more stuff. They had really great Liam vocals. Something Noel will never have, he just doesnt have the voice. Every Noel solo song would be improved with a good Liam vocal No it wouldn't. Liam has ruined some songs on Oasis albums in the past

So triumphant, so euphoric, so upbeat.
Welcome back Chief.

I would like to point out that it was me who first noticed The Beach Boys/1950s USA/Grease comparisons. Kudos Beady’s Here Now , you’re more than just the forum idiot! I love you

Anyone got a decent stab at the lyrics?

The perfect first tune back - how could you not like the fuzzy sing songy glammy punk NG?

It goes great with my 80's pop playlist, great way to start a day with a smile and a good cup of coffee.

Anyone got a decent stab at the lyrics? I just know that my favorite line is, "she smelled like 1969."

If Noel's management had any sense they'd try to get this in a Beats or Apple AirPods commercial. It works for that demo.

I have no idea what to make of it, but good on him for having a shot at something different. He's a massively talented songwriter and to spend most of his life writing similar stuff would be a shame. As You Were is great but I reckon Who Built The Moon will be a better album

I actually now really like it. I’ve just done a full 180. It’s the cousin of Round Are Way. It’s triumphant and joyous. The flute is fucking catchy, as is the refrain. Love the 1950s vibe. I honestly can’t believe the quick change of mind. I’m now with you, mystoryisgory - it’s fucking brilliant.

That flute part wouldn’t be out of place at Disney World - there’s something around that that I can’t quite pinpoint, but it’s there.

I don't get potato. What's the point of releasing a song with such a crazy flute part but rejecting the AA stuff?

In a weird, alternate universe, we could've had an Oasis "White Album"
Disc 1 - As You Were Disc 2 - Who Built the Moon?
A collection of songs that sound nothing alike and have no business being on the same album from two diverging creative forces , theme and consistency be damned.

This song makes a mockery of all the bland plodding before, whether that's Beady Eye or Noel himself.
Shits on all that dadrock from a great height.

I wish I could be as euphoric about the song as mystoryisgory I didn't really like it after a few listens, but meanwhile it has grown a little more on me and I think it's alright. It is kinda different, but still not 'out of left field' or 'experimental' imo, hard to explain. I like the 'feel-good'-vibes of the song, but overall it sounds a little dull. Surely there must be much better tunes on the album than Holy Mountain!

After having a few more listens it also grows on me but contrary to the majority here, I hear a classical Noel-Dad-rock-Mucky-Fingers tune with a flute, which is the only difference.

Wow! Gets better with every listen. Easily the most upbeat tune I've heard from Noel since BHN. This could easily belong on that album. Sounds like he is back in a good place again (minus the drugs). We are back in 1997 again! Waheyyyy!

I like everything about it, except Noel voice, but tbh that's my eternal problem with his music.

Not a bad song I guess, just does nothing for me. Also his vocals are meh.
