This song is not comparable to anything on Kid A, this song is just not that good. I don't know about "Yeezus", that's from Kanye West right? Yeah Yeezus was a brave industrial hip-hop record from Kanye that the critics ate up but considerably divided his fans. I really like its ambition but it's got some godawful lyrics. And I agree, Holy Mountain isn't anything like Kid A or Yeezus, but it's been interesting seeing how divisive music goes down with fans. "Step back, can't get spunk on the mink. I mean, damn, what would jeromy-romy-romy-rome think?" Instant classic. 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

I REALLY hate the person who originally pointed out the ‘She’s bangs’ comparison. Way to fucking ruin the song for me. Ugh.

It would've been his best album had he gone with the razor-sharped political commentary of Black Skinhead and New Slaves instead of clunkers like that.

I've All I Need > Holy Mountain < Beautiful World Real melody is near. So does it turn out that you like Holy Mountain? Genuine question. Yes sir. I do. But I got drunk tonight and went home singing "I've All I Need" instead of "She Fell"...that's all. But I love Noel and I know I will like the album. And Holy Mountain is good. Old school 50s USA rock and roll.

I dunno man, Giants had some left field stuff for a happy band like Oasis in the 90's it was just a misguided force. WFL, Gas Panic, Go Let It Out, Fucking In the Bushes and Roll It Over were different and had something special in them. Just half of an album maybe Noel and Co. needed a few months to write more stuff. Keep in mind, both SOTSOG and Kid A came out same year. One in February, the other in October. Radiohead went places, dug deeper than most bands would ever dare. Noel kept the guitar, added choirs. Radiohead put the guitars away, found computers. It takes a special kind of synergy between bandmates and the producer to craft brillance like Kid A - Noel in his solo bubble could never pull that off. It's why alot of bands tried to make their own Kid A and fell flat - Radiohead has that uniqueness most bands don't.

For all the talk of 'new direction' the vocal harmonies are right out of the beach boy parody backing vocals of the Beatles' Back in the USSR, pretty immense sounding thus far.

So how the fuck are the unofficially uploaded Youtube videos still up on the website? Surely Noel's management are aware that we're using those links to listen to Holy Mountain without paying for it? Maybe this inaction is part of the promotional campaign? Inaction is also a weapon of mass destruction. God bless.

I could imagine Noel releasing something like David Bowie's Low. Well, at least the first side.

When I saw them live, quite honestly, I've never seen a band play that tightly. It didn't feel like a gig. It felt they were just jamming together, and 80k people just so happened to be watching them.

This is crazy good. Reminds me of a robust Surfer Blood. Fresh but still The Chief!

I would like to point out that it was me who first noticed The Beach Boys/1950s USA/Grease comparisons. Kudos Beady’s Here Now, you’re more than just the forum idiot!

I wonder if there's a music video to this, and if so, will we be getting it today?

This is catchy and upbeat as fuck. Loads of sounds, layers and mixes going on, BHN style. Exactly what I want.
Now after a few more listens, I'll go on a limb here and say this is the best single Noel has released since AATW, and the best first single to an album since Some Might Say - its that good!
It starts off like Mucky Fingers but turns into something more like Round Are Way.
If the rest of the album is like this, Oasis Mk2 can go and fuck itself. Noel is back on top, where he was after BHN.
