I seriously do not get the Ricky Martin comparisons. No Ricky Martin tune I've heard is this groovy or features such loud horns, and that video only emphasizes the differences. It's mostly down to the repetition. People throwing out stuff like this sounds like Jerry Lee Lewis. Like, wut? I get if some people don't like it, everyone has their own taste, but some of the comparisons make me wonder if people actually know what they're listening to.

I wonder what William Hung thinks of this song?

It's almost hilarious to see how divisive Holy Mountain is. I cannot think of another Gallagher release that has elicited such polarizing reactions from the fans. Reminds me of Bring the Light. For that song, it took a while, but I think most people came around to it being a good song. Who knows? That's interesting. Based on someones comment earlier, I was thinking the exact opposite. I thought the majority of the fanbase recognize Bring The Light as being somewhat shit. Maybe a 4/10 around there?

I’m not reserving any judgement.... this is the worst song ever. I’m absolutely just shocked by this. And I love Noel. Where is the melody? There's melody. Actually, there's a lot of melodies from every single instrument, each playing their own unique melodic line. The bass has a melody, the horns have a melody, the flute has its own melody. In fact, this is probably one of the melodic songs Noel has ever released.

Good, not great. VERY retro, no? Reminds me of the Raveonettes or something. No mention of ca plane pour moi yet? I’ve checked back a couple of pages

There's a brazilian facebook group which I'm part of and people are going mad. Reaction is very negative. I bet they were expecting another If I Had A Gun-like tune and with those people I'm happy to disagree with. "It's obviously fake!" "The mix is very bad" "Is that even the same guy who wrote The Masterplan?" "Where are the guitars?" Gente chata, pra variar... Pelo amor de deus!! Essa música eh horrível!! Vcs gostaram?

You've got ur interpretation and I've got mine.. which is what music is all about. Just to clarify, I said that it's what Jerry Lee Lewis would sound like if he recorded Ricky Martin's She Bangs 😝

But I don't think most people think it's a good song now. I think it's generally viewed as an instant skip if it's in your collection at all.

It swings both ways.

Gente chata, pra variar... Pelo amor de deus!! Essa música eh horrível!! Vcs gostaram? Yep, pretty much! It’s very “unoasis”, but that’s quality work. Again, I get why people don’t like it. I bet that if you’re reading this forum, there’s a huge chance that you’re an old time hardcore Oasis fan, and most of us don’t really do that pop/electronic stuff. But I do, as I do Power Metal, and MPB (popular Brazilian music), and many other stuff. It’s OK to be divisive. Hell, after such a long career, it’s expected. If you’re ecletic in your music taste (as I believe Noel is, increasingly so), these changes are bound to happen.

Will say, judging by people's reactions, it's taking a lot of guts by Noel to release this album.

Yup, nobody can say he didn't give it an honest try. Based on everything we heard, I think it will be a cohesive album worthy of a purchase.

I really like it. It's very different than what we've come to expect from Noel. Makes me extremely interested to see what the rest of the album is like, especially if the rest of the songs are not as "radio friendly" as this one
