A comment on Noel's your so far, as someone who has seen him in Paris and London (tonight).
So, enjoyed both gigs, more or less - Wembley more as it was a home crowd guaranteed to raise the atmosphere particularly for Oasis songs. Paris less as the gig was very reserved, not sure the crowd really bought it, and I was running a marathon mere days later.
Really enjoyed Wembley tonight but thought it was more a set designed to milk the arena crowd - peppered lightly with Oasis songs and heavy on new album tracks. Tunes off new album are just a bit too repetitive and lacking in choruses (remember Noel telling off other babds, including Beady Eye for such pop heresy) to truly work in such a large arena but it was interesting to try a different get into them as live tracks - my feeling is in a different setting (slower release as singles for example) they may have dropped into our conscience better. Who knows!
Not into the Beatles cover at the end but it is fun to highlight the 'its easy!' bit of the tune.
All in all, a fun night out that, let's be honest, could have been a classic with a different setlist choice - no need to keep it so rigid. Banter with the crowd gave away how scripted this tour has been
Same set list bar If Love is the Law tonight and not in Paris - come on Noel you owe it to yourself to stretch yourself more than that - a cursory glance on setlist.fm will tell you that!

Just got in from Wembley a short while ago:
- Such a fun night. Crowd seemed well up for it - Little By Little went down particularly well as did Heat of the Moment - Ysee and Jessica were excellent, add a real energy to the set - Gem just takes tracks to another level - looks and sounds a perfect fit for the band - the solo on Riverman was a real personal highlight - Noel was his usual solid self - engaged in some light banter with the crowd, but not a lot - The balloons at the end gave a real joyous end to the evening - especially when everyone tried to grab one afterwards and you had the sight of grown men and women jumping around, arms in the air trying to catch them like at a kids birthday party.. - Slightly disappointed The Man Who Built The Moon hasn't been played yet, but can't win them all.
If you're thinking of going along to a gig and not been yet, it's well worth checking it out. This is Noel in a new guise and the big band/group of people does work very well together.

Noel's attitude has always been to give people the same set - mostly - throughout a tour. He doesn't agree with mixing it up night by night. What he probably needs to do is to just switch one or two songs but if you look at it objectively, and not from the point of view of a superfan, then the setlist is very well balanced with new and old songs and Oasis classics.

I used to understand why TMWBTM wasn't getting played live. I thought that maybe it was hard to put it all together but listening to the soundcheck it's actually alright. Why is Noel playing songs that everyone wants to see live on soundchecks? But then you see the setlist and everything stays the same. He's doing a great job in the setlists tbf,The Right Stuff,Go Let It Out,a Beatles cover and even Dead In The Water. And then Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me,Falling Down,Alone On The Rope,TMWBTM,ASGOG...all those songs are gems that everybody wants to hear from him. To me Falling Down should be played as soon as posible because its my favourite song by Oasis. But the rest are almost his best solo songs. Will never understand why get them on the soundcheck but not playing it live.

Will never understand why get them on the soundcheck but not playing it live. It may just be that, at the moment, he can't find the right way to slot them into the set. I highly doubt he'll go longer than 22 songs for anything more than one or two gigs, as that seems to be the length of set he likes now. The first half of the set isn't changing, and in fairness neither TMWBTM or Falling Down would slot in there. He was playing LTLSALOM, but dropped it for TRS, which is fine and works well. You say that 'everybody wants to hear them', but I doubt the arena crowd will react brilliantly to Alone On The Rope or A Simple Game Of Genius. Falling Down and TMWBTM really would need to be towards the end of the set, which means dropping on of those songs there, which I don't think will happen either. It's a shame he dropped B&WS, but he seems to be doing ILITL instead. The only song I can see changing at all on this tour will be that current slot that ILITL occupies and, maybe, TIOBI, although I doubt it. Other than that I think any changes are now likely to come in the summer. I'm happy to be wrong, though.

Honestly, this tour just shows how little us 'superfans' actually know an audience haha I wondered why he was playing Dream On, but yeh, it's massive live and everybody gets going. Same with LBL, TIOBI. And ultimately it's the same with HTWA and Wonderwall as well.

I wonder if it’s possible he’s rehearsing TMWBTM to play the whole album live at Watford (minus Wednesday). Probably a pipe dream, but it would be a great thing to do.

Anybody been to Manchester Arena since it reopened?
What type of security is there?
I'm going to arrive as early as possible but it may wend up being 8ish or so before I arrive.

It’s a bit like airport security getting in now. Suppose it depends on the queues but don’t think it’d take more than 10 minutes getting it so you’ll be fine. Presume Noel will be on about 9pm.

Yeh I went to Leeds Arena back in March and the protocol was everyone getting scanned with a hand-held device. Do they just have that at Manc or is it a full archway metal detector like at an airport? You know, wallet and belt and phone in a tray and all that? It's absolutely fine - I'd rather it be safe - but if I can sneak out of work early I will.

We were there pretty much for opening time and we were still queueing about 20 minutes. I went to the first gig back at the arena with Noel playing and a couple of Boxing shows and I’ve never been more than 10 minutes getting into the arena. I think it helps that there’s multiple entrances getting into standing there unlike Leeds.

When I went to Amsterdam I went shopping beforehand, so my bag was stuffed with a big shopping bag from Zara and the security guy looked at it, bursted out laughing, turned to his co-worker, made some comment about women, stuck his hand in my bag and moved it around a bit without looking and then I could walk on.

You could have told him "it's the present for Noel" I took a bottle of water with me, but had a cap hidden in my pocket. A security woman asked me "do you have a cap for the bottle?" when she checked my bag at entrance and I said to her "No, no Miss" of course. I always do that as I don't bother to pay for a drink.

With Liam, security took out my water bottle (one of those expensive plastic ones from Blokker, you know them) and asked a colleague what to do with it. I just said "Come on, do you really think I'm bringing a bottle that cost me a tenner to then just throw it at someone in the crowd at a gig on the other side of the country?"
