Music nowadays is fucking shite. I had a world encompassing theory that music ended after 1987 until a year ago when I watched Supersonic. A world opened up for me then. It makes me realize that if Oasis could do it in 1994, a time where I believed all to be lost, anyone can still do it now. It just takes someone with balls. The Arctic Monkeys are the main culprit in destroying british rock. And every single other band has followed in the same path of playing "soft rock". It's almost rock but it doesn't QUITE get there. The Sherlocks are a prime example. They're too fucking indie/hipster to be proper rock and roll and it shows the moment Fuckin In The Bushes begins, the crowd goes wild. Liam walking on stage has more power than anything any of these Arctic Monkeys copy artists can come up with.

Exactly, if it's sounding that great, then its possibly more a question of inadequacy of the audience to the band than anything else. I also think that he's possibly not enjoying this reaction either, and far less the 'Liam-heckling' windheads. And this is my fear, because I for once like the new songs and couldn't care less for the oasis songs he chooses to play or not. This is me being selfish, yes, allow me to it. Everyone else going to any NG gig for the sole purpose of reliving the past is way more selfish and it is unfair for the artist also. Or opinions differ a lot and what sounds great to a small group sounds off to a much larger group? I mean no offense, but saying an audience is inadeqate because they're not liking what you like is a bit pretentious, don't you think? Again, I can only judge from what I've seen in Amsterdam and there was just no indication that a large group of people were enjoying the new stuff. This is roughly the same group of people who've seen Noel the other times as well so they most likely came in expecting something anyway. You don't buy a ticket for a Noel Gallagher show without some kind of expectation of what you're getting. Many people on this board seem to think it's the lack of Oasis stuff that's bothering people who don't like the show though. It really isn't. Sure, there'll always be that group of fanboys chanting "who the fuck are man uniiited" and I think these idiots should just bugger off. But I'd trade in Little By Little for pretty much anything of the first 2 solo records. I could live without Don't Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall for the rest of my life. If Liam were to do Morning Glory on his third tour still I'd be done with that as well. I'd also like to make clear how it's not the idea of him going into a different reaction that's bothering me. Supersonic's turned into a completely different song nowadays. I like Falling Down and and don't think it sounds anything like Definitely Maybe. The Importance of Being Idle doesn't sound anything like what's on Wonderwall. I've no problem with growth and expanding your horizon. However, I just want good songs and I don't think the new stuff is very good. If it's your thing then fine, but to me it sounds uninspired, unfocussed, bland and repetitive. It lacks a hook, a decent chorus and proper direction and to me is just a bunch of new ideas poorly executed. I don't go to these shows to hear him play Oasis stuff. I'm not there to relive the past. I just don't want to be bored and this era really bores me to death.

Is there a tour poster on sale at the gigs? Yes, quite many posters at merch. table in Amsterdam. I bought a tour programme. Nothing special actually, but I bought previous tour's, so why not. Have a great time tonight, Jim!

If people don't like the base material for a tour, and it was well known he was playing a large part then of the new album, then I guess it's fair to say they're bound not to enjoy the gig...

A few observations from the gig last night:
Noel sounded like he had a cold - his voice was really ropey on the first few songs but seemed to warm up.
Gem looked like Johnny Depp on acid.
Jessica Greenfield is fucking great.

Jessica Greenfield is fucking great. You never managed to hit me with a pint for the second Gallagher gig in a row at The Hydro Globe! Must be chilling out in your old age!! The support band Baxter Dury (?) were shite, one of the worst I’ve ever heard. Took a while as you say for Noel to get going. Gem has certainly improved Riverman live for me, him and Sharrock have stepped the band up a level along with Jessica for definite.

Ach I know you have enough issues following that team of yours mate so didn't want to add to them I didn't mind Baxter Dury - they had some really good bass-lines going on there.

Was at Glasgow last night, as expected still enjoyed the gig despite my lack of enthusiasm going in Fort Knox, It's a beautiful world, dead in the water and She taught me how to fly were the highlights of the new stuff and all sounded really good - crowd got right into the chorus of STMHTF where i was. Love is the law was alright although the guitar solo is good, keep on reaching and BCWYWF were poor in my opinion. Of the NGHFB songs the only one i'm bored of really is Riverman, I don't like Dream On normally but even that got a good reaction. LBL IOBI got really good reactions as always, HTWA and WW got decent reactions but again kinda bored of them but thats probably through having seen them played so many times, even swap in some NGHFB songs in their place Everybody's on the run etc . I had apprehensions about the right stuff but really enjoyed that, I loved Go Let It Out, DLBIA great singalong as always just wish he'd play it full on with the full band . And shock horror I loved All you need is love, great little sing along! So yeah, another good night - just wish he'd be a bit more flexible with his set lists

So yeah, another good night - just wish he'd be a bit more flexible with his set lists I've noticed before how great a reaction Dream On gets. One of my least favourite songs he's ever written but I'd be happy to have him play it at a gig I was at if it created a better atmosphere, and the same with Little By Little. I think Noel is just at a bit of a crossroads and finding a happy medium has been tough. Personally I think the new album is poor so didn't get tickets for this tour, so I'm not losing out or expecting anything.
