True, you can't judge the whole tracks from 40 second clips, but you can judge the clips themselves. Also, it's possible to have an opinion on music without being able to play a single chord of it.Of course it is. I wasn't meaning to diss your opinion. I can play guitar but to no high level - I'm not saying I'm an expert. But it just seems people will analyse these clips to death and make judgements. As I said, may be better just to wait and see. dw, didn't take it as that I was only making a point further up re: whether I could get lost in the music played in this clip, which tbh I can't (as is the case for 99% of Gallagher related music [Gas Panic, Teotihuacan being in the 1%]). As for the actual quality of the tracks themselves, I'm waiting as you are

Not a lot of interesting stuff on the BBC6 interview. Matt Everitt has heard 6 songs and only one of them has a guitar solo and it's a "dancy" one, not typical Noel.

Wouldn't be surprised if half of this album is the stuff he did with Amorphous Androgynous that he'll now try to pass off as his own.

Massive respect to David Holmes. If you can get Noel to get out of his comfort zone without telling you to fuck off and then telling the fans he's destroyed the masters, you're brilliant at your job.

I'm hearing Coldplay elements here. Maybe he's going more commercial to try and crack the American market like Coldplay have been doing this past 10 years

Did you catch what was said about the new single, mate? Sure they said Friday? It's not letting me listen back to that part now unfortunately.

Well, it seems all those that wanted something different will finally have it.
What I heard so far sounds good for me: everybody knows both David Holmes and Noel can be sonically inventive (even if Noel usually chooses not to be it), so no surprise they can create this type of textures if that is what they want.
I only hope strong melodies have not been sacrificed. If the songs are great, the album can be fantastic. But if the songs are average... well, there is a lot of competition out there. Tens of artists doing this type of sounds.
Btw, i really like the 'Beautiful World' chorus. Very Noel-like melody, very catchy.

Maybe he's going more commercial to try and crack the American market like Coldplay have been doing this past 10 years 'This next record is going to get totally ignored in America' - Noel Gallagher, late 2015 Yeh, he's also just said he doesn't expect it to outsell his last two albums in the UK either. I think Noel has well-and-truly given up the ghost in the States. He has a hardcore fanbase that will come to the gigs, but there's no chance he's getting that market now.

Noel saying 'Holmes told me he'd heard this 1000 times before'. But that's what makes NG such a good songwriter. Hopefully... they've come together that it's still a staple NG melody/chorus, but with Holmes' influence also clear.

How do people know that these songs are Fort Knox, Beautiful World and She Taught me How to Fly? So do people think the "get yourself together" part is the second song? A new song starts around the 58-second mark and then maybe another one after that. I can hear Beautiful World in it but not sure how people have worked out the others. It is growing on me, the only part that sounds really bland and unmelodic is the 'get yourself together' bit. The rest sounds decent if not a little cluttered

Honestly, I listened to that twice and got a bit confused. I think they said someone else on BBC6 will be the first to play some stuff from the album, and then they will play it themselves. Not sure if a date was specified.

I don't know if the third song is She Taught Me How To Fly.

Best thing I've heard from noel solo. Still not a fan of his singing so the samples, distorted vocals helps for me.
Also just read the Russell Brand shite on Noel's blog and it reminds me how much I hate brand, the man's as funny as dry rot.

Listen to the alarm. People say door bell, I say alarm cuz I'm thinking Fort Knox is getting knocked over.

The first one may well not be Fort Knox, but it sounds like it would be the first song on the album - which is Fort Know The 'Get Yourself Together' bit is actually my favourite haha

The first one is Fort Knox because of the doorbell.
The second one is It's A Beautiful World because of the lyrics. So is the last one with She Taught Me How To Fly. Noel sings: the one I love, she is divine (...), she taught me to fly...

The visuals in the video really help elevate the songs I think. Whoever is responsible for them, nice one.

Stunning visuals, Noel looks fuckin' cool, and I like the 'get yourself together' melody. However, it sounds poorly produced. Instruments aren't clear, but perhaps these are not the final masters or the quality of the mp3 is poor.
He's sold out to the current musical times while showing immense faith in his Oasis fans to support his new sound. Gonna be interesting to hear it and I will definitely buy it because it's fuckin Noel Gallagher and if anyone has earned the right to have his music bought no matter what it's him!!
Not sure I will be a big fan of this album though.
