Better quality image here. Widescreen, epic, cinematic, atmospheric, etc - hopefully in keeping with the music. Perhaps, Noelly's taking a cue from "The Joshua Tree"?

Album formation - i.e. in terms of coming up with compositions in the studio - I wouldn't be surprised if Noel took tips from U2. Albums like Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby and Zooropa were all very much studio based albums. I do recall an interview a few years back when Noel said Bono was shocked that he would just go into the studio with fully formed songs without using the studio as a songwriting tool in itself. Maybe he's been influenced by chats with Bono? But the album cover didn't strike me as Joshua Tree on first look; it looks more Sergio Leone influenced. That kind of imagery is akin to the cinematography that contributed to the greatness of films like The Good, Bad & The Ugly. He's a big fan of that film and Ennio Morricone, so wouldn't be at all surprised to see influences of his music and instrumentation on the album.

If the album is Ennio Morricone meets neo-psychedelic space rock, then I'm all aboard the hype train. Always cautious, but that combo is heavenly to me.

I don't mind instrumentals at all as long as they're good Well, Oasis/NG had a good record with them Snakebite/Swamp song/FITB/Can You see it now are at least good in my books. I think he shines in his instrumentals and I'm very excited for some proper seriously great grown up music

Just love what we have now. Liam with his raw, rock and roll, buy it or don't buy it album and Noel with new, experimental shit. Perfecto

You can tell Noel is taking this seriously- You don't make a 'concept' album with instrumentals by accident. Chasing Yesterday was just a collection of songs which he had built up over time. You can tell he never wanted to make that record just by listening to the music, whereas this new album (Just by looking at the tracklisting) looks like he's actually trying to make something that's gonna stick around for a while.

Im excited as it gets, but I think some of you are taking the "experimental" a bit too far. My guess is this album will be very similar to Noel's solo material with a specific identity, production wise.

Definitely, this will evidently be a Noel album but this time, we all hope it has the colourful sonic flourishes that his melodies deserve. Far too often in the last 17 years they've been bogged down in unimaginative and bland arrangements. Last album was a tentative step in the right direction, but I expect even more with David Holmes at the helm.

The songs maybe don't have the longevity but the stuff he wrote more recently for that record (Ballad of the Mighty I, Heat of the Moment, Right Stuff, Girl With X-Ray Eyes, While The Song Remains The Same) were all a step towards where he seems to be heading with his third album.

This is the tricky part....the waiting.
This is when imaginations run rampant and the expectations for how experimental this album will be will grow and become unreasonable.
For me, I just want good songs, fresh/modern production, and better lyrics. If he checks those boxes, I'm fine.

I agree, they show more variation than a lot of his recent material of the last 15 years (aside from X Ray Eyes which is an appalling sub-Bowie pastiche), along with the smoky chilled out vibe of Riverman. But I expect this album to be faster, indeed more 'propulsive' paced than those songs, given that Holmes mentioned last year about getting out of the mid tempo stupor.

The farther out Noel wades from his comfort zone, the better. While at times I've been frustrated with his rate of growth, musically speaking, he is evolving and creating some interesting music (The Right Stuff). I will always love Oasis, and Liam's stubborn insistence to remain always and forever rock n' roll is endearing and genuine, but I've always had higher expectations for Noelly G. He's a music genius, a master at his craft, and he has a lot more to offer than just Oasis-like songs. If he can produce more tracks that blend his knack for melody with dance and electronic elements, create striking moods (Alone on the Rope, hello), or even go a bit "jazz" as The Right Stuff proved he could, then I'm hyped as hell. He's shown us glimpses of his arsenal. Noel owes it to himself to stop holding back.

I, for one, was really happy with the production direction on CY and wouldn't mind if this album followed its footsteps. When I heard about the 'cinematic' aspect I really thought about WPTWOTWOMS, not sure why, but I guess its something I missed from the last albuns. I still dont believe it will be very different for the last álbuns, or maybe I just hope so... Anyway, Monday could not be any further

I'm trying, like I'm doing for Liam's solo album, not to guess or imagine too much. I can dream big and that got me in trouble with DBTT, DOYS and AA. I'm just gonna sit back and take it all in piece by piece. I like the album cover, love the colors. Hopefully that translates into the music. We shall see.

So are we expecting a new single to be released on Monday? Normally they do that stuff on a Friday. Not a rule but a strong strong trend.

Speculation with minimal info on this forum is ridiculous. We are all desperate fans taking any info we can get and extrapolating. But it's fun, Noel's album will be great, and the speculation as dumb as it often is feeds the addiction until we get the big hit.

I hope they announce the album and drop the single straight away. It has to be instantly available everywhere: Youtube, Spotify, iTunes, radio, etc. Announcing the album on Monday and then saying "the first single is coming on Friday/next week" makes zero sense in 2017. Just drop it.
